ACTOR Daniel Padilla has added a new feather to his cap: the Outstanding Asian Star title from the 2025 Seoul Drama Awards for his performance in the action-drama series “Incognito.”
Musical variety show ASAP shared the news on its official Instagram account on Friday, July 25, congratulating the 30-year-old actor on his triumph.
“Your talent continues to shine on the world stage — we’re proud of you, DJ!” it said.
His fans also left congratulatory messages in the comment section, saying he deserved the recognition.
This is Padilla’s first Outstanding Asian Star award, after being nominated in the category in 2023 with his former girlfriend and half of KathNiel, Kathryn Bernardo, for their performances in the romance drama series “2 Good 2 Be True.”
The Outstanding Asian Star is given to celebrities selected by a global fan voting from Asian countries, including Korea, Malaysia, Japan, China, and Thailand for this year’s edition. The award recognizes actors and actresses who performed outstandingly in television series.
In “Incognito,” Padilla plays the role of Andres Malvar, a.k.a. Wolf, one of the seven misfits who come together to form a team and take on deadly missions against the criminal underworld.
Directed by Lester Pimentel Ong, the series also features Richard Gutierrez, Baron Geisler, Maris Racal, Anthony Jennings, Kaila Estrada, and Ian Veneracion.
“Incognito” premiered in January 2025 on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida block, and is now available on multiple streaming platforms, including Netflix.
The 2025 Seoul Drama Awards ceremony is scheduled for October 2 at Yeouido KBS Hall in Seoul, South Korea.
Last year, “It’s Showtime” host Kim Chiu bagged the Outstanding Asian Star title. Other Filipino celebrities who previously won the award were Gabby Concepcion, Dennis Trillo, Alden Richards, Dingdong Dantes, and Belle Mariano.
