THE list of all certified party-list groups with nominees was released by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) last Thursday, October 24.
In total, 156 certified party-list groups are currently in the running for the National and Local Elections scheduled to happen on May 12, 2025.
The numerical arrangement of the given party-lists was chosen via an electric raffle, held in Manila’s Palacio del Gobernador. This is the system COMELEC has followed ever since the 2013 midterm elections.
Before this, several groups would add “1” or “A” to their name in an attempt to be first on the ballot.
For the upcoming elections, Pagtibayin at Palaguin ang Pangkabuhayang Pilipino (4Ps) was assigned number one on the ballot, while Uswag Ilonggo Party (Uswag Ilonggo) was assigned to 156.

Remember: Your vote matters!
Now, more than ever, Filipinos need to register to vote.
While some stigma has grown around the idea of voting, with some asking what’s the point since one vote is not going to change anything, it is important not to lose hope.
You never know whether or not your vote may be the one that turns the tides in the elections, guaranteeing a victory from those you know are truly deserving of the win – those you know will actually work to make the Philippines a better country for all Filipinos.
Aside from this, there is also so much power that comes with being a voter.
COMELEC Chairman George Erwin Garcia, for example, has announced that registered voters can file a petition to cancel a certificate of nomination and acceptance (CONA), and also have a right to question the candidacy of an individual.

Here, it notes that the qualifications to become a voter are the following:
- A citizen of the Philippines
- 18 years of age or older
- A resident of the Philippines for one year and at least six months in the city/municipality wherein they propose to vote
