OUR favorite incarnation of Captain America is set to return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the upcoming ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ in 2026.
In an exclusive report on The Wrap, Chris Evans is set to be involved in some capacity. However, both the extent and the exact nature of his role remains to be undisclosed.
This summer, Chris Evans recently returned to the MCU with his brief appearance in the “Deadpool and Wolverine,” as Fantastic Four’s Johnny Storm.
Evans first appeared as the fiery and hotheaded Johnny Storm aka “Human Torch” in 2005’s Fantastic Four.
Evans made his last appearance in 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame.” In the same year, Evans passed his role as Captain America to American actor Anthony Mackie–where he’ll be next seen in the Marvel film “Captain America: Brave New World.”

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on May 1, 2026 with Robert Downey Jr. to play as Doctor Doom.
Meanwhile, The Russo Bros, who directed “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Captain America: Civil War,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” (2018), and “Avengers: Endgame,” will be directing the film.
