Chelsea Manalo wows in official Miss Universe portrait

by Joanna Deala

THE Miss Universe Organization ramped up the excitement for its 73rd beauty pageant by releasing the official portraits of the candidates, including Philippine bet Chelsea Manalo

In her official photo, the 25-year-old Bulakenya beauty queen dazzled in an emerald green dress, adorned with gold accents. She donned matching emerald earrings and put her hair in a high ponytail to complete her look.

“Hello, Philippines… Hello Universe!” the caption read.

Many netizens, including her fellow Miss Universe delegate Chidimma Adetshina from Nigeria, complimented Manalo for her stunning visuals.

“A queen and more,” the Nigeria bet said.

One Instagram user said that Manalo’s official Miss Universe portrait not only showcased her beauty but also said “a lot” about her character.

“She knows how to play with the camera,” they said. “She looks so QUEENLY yet humble. So fresh.”

Meanwhile, another netizen commented, “This FACE CARD will never be declined!”

Manalo won the Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) 2024 crown in May, earning her ticket to the prestigious Miss Universe competition in Mexico. She will vie for the Philippines’ fifth crown and succeed Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios on the pageant’s coronation night on November 16 (November 17 in Manila).

The Preliminary and the National Costume rounds will be held on November 14.

Support for Manalo

The MUPH Organization has been encouraging Filipinos to show once more the Bayanihan spirit in a bid to help Manalo advance to the semis and the finals by voting for her in the ongoing fan vote and Voice for Change contests.

Manalo, who advocates for the welfare of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families, currently ranks 14th in the Voice for Change competition.

“Let’s show our pride in Chelsea Manalo and support her advocacy for the children and families of Filipino migrant workers!” it wrote.

Meanwhile, former Miss Universe titleholders R’Bonney Gabriel and Catriona Gray will participate in the Miss Universe 2024 competition as a Voice for Change judge and a commentator, respectively.
