OUR social media feed has been filled with pictures of moms as Filipinos honored the most selfless and loving woman in their lives on Mother’s Day.
Mother’s Day is celebrated in the country every second Sunday of May. It fell on May 12 this year.
People had different ways to celebrate the occasion. While some celebrated it at home, others took their moms out to eat. Several netizens, on the other hand, posted photos with their moms, wives, and those whom they see as a mother figure to show them off on social media.
Of course, celebrity moms were no exception. While they were no stranger to the spotlight, these celebrity moms shone extra brightly as their loved ones honored them on Mother’s Day.
Anne Curtis
Erwan Heusaff celebrated his wife, “It’s Showtime” host Anne Curtis, by posting a video on Instagram that showed the latter’s moments with her daughter, Dahlia, during their quality time. Most of the clips showed the mother and daughter having fun playing with one another.
In the caption, Erwan highlighted Anne’s diverse roles in their daughter’s life, including being her “dance teacher,” “snacking partner,” “bodyguard,” and “lifeguard.”
Anne also shared an Instagram post to thank Dahlia and Erwan.
“Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas, mother figures and furmoms out there. May we all continue to shine light and love to our children,” she said.
Coleen Garcia
Billy Crawford also greeted his wife, Coleen Garcia, on Mother’s Day by sharing a video on Instagram where their son, Amari, could be seen wishing his mom a happy Mother’s Day.
The mother and son could also be seen sharing a hug and kisses.
“Happy Mother’s Day to you my love and to all the moms out there, thank you for loving us unconditionally,” said Billy.
Solenn Heussaff
Nico Bolzico had nothing but gratitude for his wife, Solenn Heussaff, for prioritizing their children, Thylane and Maëlys, and taking good care of their family.
On Instagram, Nico also shared a clip of Solenn and her bonding moments with their children–from giving birth to them to playing with them and celebrating various special occasions like birthdays. The clip also featured several of their cute family photos.
“Because of all the love and time you give them, we are raising two strong girls ready for this world!” wrote Nico.
Winwyn Marquez
Beauty queen Winwyn Marquez, who became the country’s first-ever Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas titleholder, also sent out a message to all “strong and loving” mothers out there.
She took to Instagram to share a clip of her feeding her daughter, Luna. In her caption, WinWyn showed appreciation for the invaluable role of a mom.
“Motherhood brings its challenges, but the joys it brings are priceless. It’s also undoubtedly one of life’s toughest paths yet its rewards are unmatched. That’s why I’m always so happy to capture funny moments like this, with my daughter,” said Winwyn.
Melanie Marquez
Miss Universe 2023 Michelle Marquez Dee also showed love to her mom, Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez, on Mother’s Day even if they were “oceans apart.”
The 28-year-old beauty queen shared on TikTok a video call with her mom who is in the United States. Michelle opened their conversation by asking her mom about what she has been up to in the U.S. She also showed Melanie a bouquet of red roses to celebrate Mother’s Day.
“Happy Mother’s Day to my forever queen and to all the mothers and mother figures!” Michelle wrote.
Marjorie Barretto
Julia Barretto had a throwback Sunday as she shared photos of her mom, Marjorie Barretto, when she was young.
“That’s my beautiful mom,” the 27-year-old actress said in the caption.
She posted another photo of her mom on her Instagram story and tagged Marjorie.
Melai Cantiveros
Melai Cantiveros did not fail to bring laughter even on Mother’s Day as she greeted her mom on Instagram, where she pointed out their similarities.
“To my Mother Dinosaur kung makatingin kay Papa ay Labyu Mama Virgie. Like mother like daughter like me na caught on act. Gusto ko sana maging Disney Princess Mother pero wala ui dili kaya, mas Mother Dragon,” said Melai.
She also posted separate photos of her and her daughters, Mela and Stela, saying that they are the reason for her “mothernity.”
Angelica Panganiban
Angelica Panganiban, who recently had her second wedding with husband Gregg Homan, shared how her daughter, Amila, brought changes in her life.
Sharing her photos with her child, Angelica said, “Nang dumating ka, hinigitan mo ang kapasidad kong mag mahal.”
One of the photos apparently showed a pack of breast milk with a handwritten letter, which read that the “happiest day” in the couple’s life was when they learned that Angelica was pregnant with Amelia.
