SEVERAL local celebrities joined members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies for the “LOV3LABAN 2025” festival at the University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) in Quezon City, rain or shine, to celebrate love and advocate for equality and inclusion.
Held on Saturday, June 28, the biggest pride event in the Philippines was a collaboration between UPD, Pride PH, and the Quezon City government. This year marks the third edition of “LoveLaban: Pride PH Festival,” as part of the nation’s Pride month 2025 celebration.
P-pop girl group G22, also known as “P-pop’s Female Alphas,” heated the “LOV3LABAN 2025” stage with a sizzling performance of their latest single “Pa-Pa-Pa-Palaban,” a song dedicated to brave Filipinas who fought for their rights, gender equality, and freedom.
P-pop group ALAMAT thrilled fans when they sang their hit song “Maharani,” while boy group VXON performed their latest single “sh*t sobrang init.”
Cup of Joe vocalists Gian Bernardino and Raphaell Ridao also graced the event, performing their hit songs “Misteryoso” and “Multo.”
Meanwhile, former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Klarisse De Guzman, a.k.a. the “Nation’s Mowm,” introduced her partner, Trina, to thousands of “LOV3LABAN 2025” attendees.
“Four years kong tinago, sabi ko siya si Bogart, Raul,” Klarisse shared. “And now, finally, may mukha na siya.”
Before leaving the stage, Trina left a message to queer individuals, saying that they all “deserve to be loved and celebrated.”
Donning a cowgirl-inspired outfit, Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee, a member and advocate of the LGBTQIA+ community, performed the Pride version of her debut single “REYNA.”
‘Be seen’
One of the biggest names in the entertainment scene who appeared at the “LOV3LABAN 2025” festival was “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda, who encouraged LGBTQIA+ members to “be seen.”
“’Yung presensya ng bawat isa sa atin ay napakahalaga, kaya ang aking panalangin at ang aking hiling sa bawat isa, sa lahat ng bahagi ng komunidad na ito, let’s all make sure that we are seen,” Vice Ganda said.
“Please be seen. We have to be heard, so please be heard. Kailangan natin lumabas, makita, at mabilang dahil ang bilang natin ay kapangyarihan,” the host added.
The “Unkabogable Star” also called on privileged individuals to support other queer Filipinos who continue to fight for equality and inclusion.
A ‘successful’ Pride month celebration
The “LOV3LABAN 2025” festival concluded with a vibrant fireworks musical for the rainbow community.
“Naging makulay at matagumpay ang selebrasyon ng Pride Month,” the Quezon City government said in a Facebook post.
Several organizations, including Akbayan Youth, also joined the pride event to urge Filipino lawmakers to stop delaying the passage of the long-pending SOGIE Equality Bill.
Others expressed support for the legalization of divorce and the comprehensive sexual education (CSE) in the Philippines.
