FILIPINO gymnast Carlos Yulo continues his dominating performance, as he concluded his campaign in the 2024 Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships bagging two more gold medals, on Sunday.

Yulo ruled the vault and the parallel bars at the Gymnastics Sport Palace in Tashkent, Uzbekistan to go home with a massive four-gold finish in the competition.

The Paris-bound gymnast topped the vault event with a score of 14.883, followed by Abdulaziz Mirvaliev (14.783) of Uzbekistan and Malaysia’s Muhammad Sharul Aimy (14.466), to complete the podium.

Meanwhile,iIn the parallel bars event, Yulo scored 15.133 to win the gold, while China’s Dehang Yin (15.033) and Rasuljon Abdurakhimov (14.866) placed second and third, respectively.

Yulo was off to a strong start at the 17th Junior & 11th Senior Men Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships after bagging his first gold in the Floor Exercise with a total of 84.931 points.

Now dubbed as the Golden Boy and the King of Asia, Yulo secured a total of four gold medals in this tourney. Indeed, an impressive run as he aspires to climb the highest mountain come Paris Olympics.

It’s a family thing

As they say, it runs in the blood, proving that genes may be a thing as his younger brother Karl Eldrew Yulo bounced back from a silver finish last year, making sure that he sets his name high just like his older brother.

The 16-year-old Yulo bagged his own gold medal in the vault event with 14.433 points, edging Kazakhstan Altynkhan Temirbek’s 14.183 and Uzbekistan’s Sarvar Abulfaizov’s 13.766 in the eight-man finale.

The younger Yulo has been on a roll as he also copped two golds and three silvers in the Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships in Colombia less than a month ago in April.

The Yulo brothers continue to make big waves in the gymnastics scene. Scoring gold after gold whenever they step inside the big stage, notwithstanding the bright lights pointed at them.
