BTS not involved in Michael Jackson tribute album—label

by Joanna Deala

BIGHIT Music denied the claim that its artist, K-pop sensation BTS, is participating in a tribute album for the late “King of Pop” Michael Jackson.

The septet’s agency addressed the report about BTS’s alleged involvement in the tribute album and clarified that the K-pop idols neither visited Grouse Lodge Studio in Ireland nor took part in any recording sessions for the said project.

“The group is not involved in the tribute album in any capacity,” BIGHIT MUSIC clarified.

Citing The Irish Sun, several publications reported that BTS—composed of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook—allegedly recorded a previously unreleased song by Jackson.

The late singer-songwriter reportedly went to Grouse Lodge Studios to record in 2006.

The Irish Sun quoted the studio’s owner, Paddy Dunning, in its Sunday report, saying: “The sessions started last year and we have already had the Korean boy band BTS over with us in Grouse Lodge, recording one of the songs.”

However, the article has been updated, and Dunning’s quote can no longer be found in it.

In its statement, BIGHIT MUSIC stressed that it is “continuing to take appropriate measures to prevent the spread of inaccurate information.”

The agency also thanked fans for their continued support for BTS.

2026 comeback

BTS officially confirmed their comeback to the K-pop scene in 2026, after all members completed their mandatory military service. Suga, the group’s rapper and songwriter, was the last member to be discharged from South Korea’s mandatory military service on June 21.

RM, BTS’ leader, confirmed that they will release a new album “next spring.”

“Starting in July… we’re planning to make something massive, so from then (this month), we’ll probably gather together and stay focused on making music,” he said on the global fandom platform Weverse.

The K-pop powerhouse will also embark on a world tour starting next spring, he added.

In July, BTS dropped its first-ever live album, “Permission to Dance On Stage – Live,” on music streaming platforms. It features 22 tracks of the boy group’s performances from their “Permission to Dance on Stage” tour from 2021 to 2022.
