Drag Race Philippines fans are surely in a frenzy after it was revealed that Filipino-American influencer Bretman Rock and actress Anne Curtis will serve as guest judges in the show’s forthcoming sequel.
Their participation was unveiled In a two-minute “super sequel” released days ahead of the reality show’s August 2 premiere.
The two celebrities are expected to make the show even more fun and colorful.
Being “gay as hell” since he was a kid, Rock is one of the many who aggressively pushes for representation in various areas of society, especially in social media.
He was the first-ever openly gay man to grace the cover of Playboy magazine in its October 2021 issue. He also advocates for fellow LGBTQIA+ members to continue speaking and standing up for their pride.
Curtis, on the other hand, is known as an ally of the community. She has openly expressed her support for the passing of the SOGIE Equality Bill.
Others in the panel include veteran actress Maricel Soriano, Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz, theater actress Kim Molina, socialite Tessa Prieto, Drag Race Thailand host Pangina Heals, and P-Pop group girl group 4th Impact members Almira and Mylene Cercado.
Television personality Paolo Ballesteros, also known as “Mama Pao” in Drag Race Philippines, will remain as the show’s presenter.
Ballesteros, along with RuPaul’s Drag Race alumna Jiggly Caliente and actress and TV host Kaladkaren, will be returning as part of the main panel of judges.
They will be joined by actor Jon Santos, fashion designer Rajo Laurel, and photographer BJ Pascual as they look for a queen with the talent, charisma, uniqueness, and nerve to be crowned as the next Drag Race Philippines champion.
The Drag Race Philippines Season 2 queens who will try to snatch the title crown are Arizona Brandy, Astrid Mercury, Bernie, Captivating Katkat, Dee Dee Marie Holiday, Hana Beshie, M1ss Jade So, Nicole Pardaux, ØV C–T, Tiny Li’l Deluxe, and Veruschka Levels.
Recently, these queens released their song BOOGSH! that will serve as the opening for Drag Race Philippines Season 2.
Expect more fun and drama
Ballesteros said Drag Race Philippines Season 2 will be “double the fun, double the extravaganza, and double the drama.”
In its inaugural season of Drag Race Philippines last year, Precious Paula Nicole was crowned the first ever winner of the show.
Marina Summers was hailed the first runner-up and Lady Morgana was voted Miss Congeniality.
The brand-new season of Drag Race Philippines is set to air every Wednesday via WOW Presents Plus and HBO Go along with its Untucked segment.
