Boxstage Manila makes a comeback with a restaging of the Palanca Award-Winning Play ‘Sala sa Pito’ by George de Jesus III
Boxstage Manila, the FEU Theater Guild alumni theater group, is back at it, opening the curtains for the restaging of the Palanca Award-winning play Sala sa Pito by George de Jesus III. This production is in partnership with Far Eastern University (FEU), FEU Alumni Relations Office (FEU-ARO), FEU Center for the Arts (FCA) directed by FTG’s Artistic Director and PETA Senior Artists Dudz Teraña.
After the successful 2020 run of Risa Jopson’s adaptation fo Gabriel Garcia’s Marquez’s Ang Pinakamakisig sa mga Nalunod sa Buong Daigdig and the relaunch of Allan Lopez’s Anatomiya, Boxstage Manila will continue to offer compelling and immersive experiences with the restaging of Sala Sa Pito.
The play, loosely inspired by Arthur Schintzler’s La Ronde, unfolds through a series of interconnected scenes, each highlighting the characters as they navigate emotional and relational complexities.Under the direction of Artistic Director Dudz Teraña, the production will offer a fresh perspective in the exploration of love and human connection. Set in 1990, the play will be accompanied by the soulful music of its time, matching the themes of intimacy, vulnerability, power, and the ever-changing dynamics of relationships.
The cast will convey the powerful impact of these themes through their captivating performance. Boxstage Manila features alternating performances by Kat Galang and Yesh Burce as Misis, Rowi Du and Kobie Hachero as Mister, Divine Aucina and Jamille Vivas as Matrona, Aj Sison and Jasper Estaras as Yuppie, Kloren Flores and Karyl Oliva as GRO, Jel Tarun and Jemuel Satumba as Masseur, JD Reyes as Waiter, and Jesus Singh III as Singer.

Performances will take place at the FEU Center for the Arts Studio in Manila. The black box theater is designed to create an intimate and immersive connection between the audience and the story.
