With the #teachingmyboyfriendhowtoberomantic, many Filipinas are wanting to be swept off her feet by the man she loves, even if it means teaching him how to be romantic.
Most of the guys seemed clueless as to what happened, but simply rolled along with it.
Tiktok handle @niksregino has a unique way of getting cheesy with her man.
In her TikTok post, she patiently waited for her boyfriend to arrive and handed him a box of donuts before pushing her boyfriend out of the house.
Confused, the boyfriend comes right back in (with the box of donuts in his hands) and @niksregino acts all happily surprised with the “sweet gesture”.
“The lessons continue . He is getting closer to graduating my gentleman’s academy 😅,” says user Marta (@martamie) as she continues to share tips on how to teach her audience’s boyfriends or husbands to be “romantic.”
This trend has been taking over TikTok by storm recently due to its relatability and the creative way people are addressing it.
Another post, this time by jncsar showed a confused boyfriend after he was given a slice of cake then the door was closed.
She then opened the door as they both laughed their hearts out due to the confused look on her fiance.
But, what really is the trend all about, and how do we even teach our partners to be romantic?
Essentially, ‘how to teach him to be romantic’ trend is a scripted interaction orchestrated by a girl accompanied by a playful side acting all surprised by their boyfriends’ “action”.
Having been recreated by many users on the platform, it seems like many were able to relate to this reality of being in a relationship.
So, really, how to teach him to be romantic?
Step 1: Get your props ready.
Your favorite flower and box of chocolates will be the most important aspect of this “learning” endeavor. As the most common symbol of romanticism, they will be essential in making yourself feel “special”. So, go buy them.
Step 2: Get into position.
Stand by the door with a bouquet of flowers and chocolates on your hand, and wait for your partner to reach the door. Just be sure to do this when you are certain he is about to be home. We don’t want you waiting there for a few hours for nothing.
Step 3: Wait.
When your partner enters the room, abruptly hand him the flowers and chocolates and shove him out of the house–leaving him confused. But this is where everything gets exciting.
Step 4: Act.
After he comes back in, holding the flowers and chocolates that you handed him. All there is to do is swoon and feel the “romantic gesture” you have just taught your man.
“Awww…So sweet. You didn’t have to.”— just the perfect line to complete the lesson.
Niks Regino took it a step further as in her Tiktok post as she cooked food, woke up her boyfriend who even said “ano nanaman ito?” And then she pretended to sleep and woke up surprised for … breakfast in bed!
Sometimes, they just actually want their partners to bring home flowers and sweets, read them love letters, open the door for them, or cook for them.
There is no limit on how one can be romantic. These collective similar experiences practically gave birth to this trend and people are loving it.
