A BOOKWORM’S mall trip wouldn’t be complete without visiting our favorite thrift bookstore but upon entering its ‘new chapter,’ some branches of our favorite bookstore will be closing.
In a Facebook post made on the official page of Booksale on Tuesday, CEO Josh Sison stated that the company is entering a “new chapter.”
“While some of our branches are closing, we’re excited to continue finding new and creative ways to make reading affordable and accessible as we have done for the past 35 years.” The post read.
Sison also added that “they have so many exciting plans ahead” and that it is something that they can’t wait to share. “So, here’s to the stories yet to be told and the adventures that await—both on the page and in the world beyond.”
Known for its affordable books, Booksale has served smiles for many Filipino bookworms. They are known as ‘country’s biggest source of low-priced unused, as well as previously-owned, books and bargain publications from the U.S., Canada, Australia and the UK.’
During the pandemic lockdown, from their onsite sale–they moved into online operations on where available items are posted on its Facebook page.
While Booksale’s website noted that they have 91 branches across the country, the company did not disclose which of these branches will be closing down.
