BLACKPINK’s Lisa unveiled Thursday the cinematic music video for her song “Dream”, casting herself opposite Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi.
Released on the YouTube channel of her label LLOUD, the five-minute video opens with the Thai superstar at a funeral, where a chance meeting with Sakaguchi sparks a poignant narrative told through music and imagery.
“It’s a story about love, loss and real emotions,” said Lisa before the short film’s premiere.
She said that the film was really special to her.
On working with Sakaguchi, Lisa has nothing to say but praises.
“He’s a great actor who helped bring everything to life,” she said.
“Dream” serves as the closing track of Lisa’s solo debut album Alter Ego. It was released last February.
Lisa rose to global fame as a member of K-pop powerhouse Blackpink, becoming one of the most recognizable Thai artists in the world and breaking records with her solo debut.
Meanwhile, Kentaro Sakaguchi is a Japanese actor and model known for his roles in romance and drama films such as The 100th Love with You and We Made a Beautiful Bouquet.
Lisa will return to the Philippines in November with her Blackpink bandmates for the two-day Bulacan stop of the group’s “Deadline” tour at the Philippine Arena.
