ARE you ready to cry? If not, prepare your tissues while listening to the newest single of Ben&Ben “Comets.”
The song is all about the nature of relationship fallouts and disconnections after giving everything you’ve got. But it also brings hope and acceptance while having mixed feelings.
“Though mostly dwelling on that feeling of loss, the song ends with the hopeful realization of gratitude—being thankful for ever having experienced any of it at all,” said Ben&Ben in a press statement.

According to Paolo Benjamin and Miguel Benjamin, the songwriters behind the song, “COMETS” was inspired by the many losses of people they’ve encountered in the past four years: breakups, end of friendships, and parting ways with professional relationships.
“With each loss comes a painful process of asking why the nature of life is as such. The answer is hardly ever straightforward, but reveals itself over long periods of time. COMETS is an expression of that very journey, and hopes to help the listener through these realities in their lives too,” they added.
The band had been performing the song since 2021. They also revealed that it’s one of the songs they’ve spent the longest tuning and arranging the structure.
“COMETS” was the first song that Ben&Ben had a co-producer and it was with Indonesian musician Petra Sihombing.

The band hopes that their fanbase, LIWANAG, would relate to the ending words of the song “though these nights are turning gray, still I am thankful for what’s passed. I know there will come a day when I will finally understand.”
“We’re on the same journey of finding these answers ourselves — of why life is fleeting. And with that hope comes the strength and courage we need to keep going, to keep loving, and to keep on finding meaning in our experiences,” Ben&Ben said.
Way back 2023, Ben&Ben had released “Could be Something,” “Courage,” and “Autumn” as singles. In the same year, the band was no. 1 streamed OPM artist on spotify.
The band’s recent achievements include performing with Ed Sheeran and having their songs included in the musical version of the classic film “One More Chance.”
