Belle Mariano to hold a birthday concert

by Joanna Deala

THE musical career of Filipina actress Belle Mariano is thriving this year with the launching of her new album “And Solemn.” This, however, is only the beginning of what she has in store for 2024.

During the launch party of her new album, record producer Roxy Liquigan dropped the news that the 21-year-old actress will be holding another concert on her birthday in June.

“Kanina po narinig po namin ang sabi niyo concert. At alam niyo po, ngayong birthday niya meron po tayong concert,” Liquigan said, stirring excitement among fans.

The record producer said this after presenting to Mariano her Lullaby Artist awards from Spotify.

“Congratulations, Belle, and i-enjoy pa po natin ang ibang kanta mula sa album,” he told Mariano who was also on stage.

The young star launched her new album at the SM North Edsa Skydome last weekend.

“And Solemn” is the second part of her sophomore album. The first part, titled “Somber,” was released in June 2023.

The latest album has five tracks, namely: “Walang Pake,” “Shot Me Right Through,” “Nobody Else,” “I Choose Me,” and “Autumn.”

“Autumn” is her collaboration song with the nine-piece folk-pop band Ben&Ben, which was first released in December 2023. The song became a part of the official soundtrack of Mariano’s romance drama series “Can’t Buy Me Love” with her onscreen tandem Donny Pangilinan.

On Instagram, Mariano described the album launch as a “success.”

“The songs are coming from the sincere calmness of my heart,” she said.

The “Can’t Buy Me Love” star thanked her fans who joined her in the event.

“Let’s continue to inspire one another,” she added.

Past concerts

The upcoming concert, which further details have yet to be revealed, will follow Mariano’s first live concert “Beloved” in July 2023 at the New Frontier Theater.

For the actress, her first solo offline musical event was a “dream come true.”

Before this, Mariano held her first solo online concert “Daylight: The Concert” in 2022. Big events during this time were still held online to avoid mass gatherings and further spread of Covid-19.

The concert was a reminder that “there will always be daylight” regardless of circumstances.
