Arroz caldo, Lugaw, and many more reach TasteAtlas’ best-rated porridge

FILIPINO dishes are once again being acclaimed as it made it to the TasteAtlas’ best-rated food rankings, this time it was added to the list for the best-rated porridge in the world. 

Just recently, TasteAtlas, a site that is known for food and travel guides, released its list for the best porridges in the world.

Placed on its top 50 list, Arroz Caldo ranks second as the best porridge in the world with a ranking of 4.3 stars.   

Arroz Caldo is another variety of congee made of chicken, ginger-infused broth, and other various accompaniments and seasonings.

Aside from Arroz Caldo, Lugaw also tops the list, ranking 10th on the list of the 50 best porridges in the world. 

According to the site, Lugaw serves as an “ideal base for any type of meat and seasonings. In the Philippines, Lugaw is often paired with a hard-boiled egg or baboy at tokwa (pork and tofu)  

TasteAtlas ranked Lugaw with 4.1 stars. 

Aside from Arroz Caldo and Lugaw, Champorado has also ranked on the top 50 list, ranking 19th as the best porridge in the world. 

Known for its sweetness and dessert-like delight, champorado serves as a treat for many Filipinos, especially during the rainy weather when the porridge tastes best with tuyo (salted dry fish).

TasteAtlas ranked Champorado with 3.9 stars.
