Are we finally getting an EXO group comeback in 2025?

by Joanna Deala

POPULAR K-pop boy group EXO has sent their fans into a frenzy after dropping a hint at their possible group comeback this year.

On X (formerly Twitter), EXO shared a poster featuring two moons colliding and the text: “When we become true one, a new world awakens.”

It also quoted a line from the music video of their debut track “MAMA” in 2012, which goes: “The day the Red Force is purified and the legends reunite into one perfect root, a new world shall open up.”

No further details were given about the teaser, but the caption said: “December, 2025,” along with the hashtags “EXO” and “We Are One EXO.”

Many fans, collectively known as EXO-Ls, have high hopes for a full group comeback onstage, especially since all Korean EXO members are about to complete their mandatory military service.

Sehun, EXO’s maknae (youngest) and the last member serving in the South Korean military, will be discharged on September 20.

“That day when EXO will comeback as a group, I won’t be okay but I’m waiting for that day!! WE ARE ONE,” one EXO-L said on X.

“Lord, make EXO OT9 group comeback happen,” said another fan.

EXO had their last full-unit comeback in 2023, when they released their seventh studio album “EXIST.” It featured nine tracks, including pre-release singles “Hear Me Out” and “Let Me In.”

Formed by South Korean label SM Entertainment, EXO is behind some of the popular K-pop songs, including “Growl,” “CALL ME BABY,” “Monster,” “LOVE ME RIGHT,” and “Love Shot.”

Solo activities

While fans await the possible group comeback, several EXO members are focused on promoting their individual activities.

D.O., whose real name is Doh Kyungsoo, announced his latest collaboration single, “DUMB,” with South Korean rapper and singer-songwriter PENOMECO, which will be released on September 16.

Chen, or Kim Jongdae in real life, will also make a solo comeback on September 29 with his fifth mini album, “Arcadia.”

Meanwhile, EXO’s leader Suho will drop his fourth mini album, “Who Are You,” on September 22.

Xiumin, Kai, and D.O. recently visited the country for the Manila leg of their solo concerts, “X Times (),” “KAION,” AND “DO it!” respectively.

Baekhyun will continue the EXO “tingi” 2025 edition, as he brings his “Reverie” world tour to the Philippines on October 18.
