FILIPINO-AUSTRALIAN actress and model Anne Curtis was featured on the front cover of Australian magazine Good Weekend.
Good Weekend’s January issue featured Curtis with the caption: “Screen Queen: The Australian TV and film mega-celebrity you’ve never heard of.”
Curtis was born to an Australian father and a Filipino mother. Throughout her two-decade career in the Philippine entertainment industry, she has become a household name—thanks to her accomplishments as an actress, TV host, product endorser and recording artist.
However, despite her fame in the Philippines, she has largely gone unnoticed by the Australian audience.
“In the Philippines, @annecurtissmith is the mega-celebrity Australia doesn’t know it has: mobbed in the streets of Manila and more popular than Taylor Swift. For the film and TV star, it’s a long way from her upbringing in rural Victoria,” wrote Good Weekend on their Instagram account.
Curtis has also participated in charitable initiatives. As a National Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF Philippines, she has continuously advocated for children’s rights and welfare using her platform.
