FORMER Interior and Local Government Secretary and now one of the leading senatorial candidates of the administration backed Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas, Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr., continued to gain support as evidenced in his campaign in Mandaluyong City.
Thousands upon thousands of supporters expressed their support to the former DILG official and city mayor, expressing belief that the time for change and proper and honest leadership is now.
The support came at the heels of a recent survey by the Social Weather Stations that showed that the administration bets continue to dominate.
It was the first pre-election survey of the SWS since the campaign period started earlier this month.
Mandaluyong, under the stewardship of Abalos, became one of the emerging cities in Metro Manila becoming a Tiger City.
And his secret? Honest governance anchored toward the people.
That is what he intends to bring to the Senate.
“Sa lahat ng experience ko, sa lahat ng award na nakuha ko para sa Mandaluyong. It would speak for itself. At sa mga polisiya na gagawin sa senado para sa inyo,” Abalos said in an ambush interview during his campaign in Mandaluyong City.
The Feb. 15 to 19 poll commissioned by the Stratbase Group showed Abalos getting a 17 percent vote.
Abalos is a consistent vote getter in surveys landing inside the top 15 of voters preference
