There are many love songs that encapsulate good lyrics. It’s almost impossible how these songs were crafted carrying so much emotion. Through these songs, someone will realize if the love they are experiencing is the same as the main character of the song.
But some people are just enjoying the song ignoring the meaningful lyricism that could change the way they view love. Somehow, these songs could remind them that they deserve better, especially those who are settling with the bare minimum.
Blue – Yung Kai

Blue is a song by Yung Kai that was released on August 2, 2024. It had gone viral on TikTok because of its lyricism and soothing rhythm. Users play this music on repeat for the last few months.
Yung Kai said in his interview with Genius that the song, Blue, is inspired by a C-Drama called ‘When i Fly Towards You,’ that he watched together with the girl he likes. Putting together the drama and the girl he likes created a masterpiece that now people enjoy listening to. In his interview, he shared the story behind every lyric that he wrote. Yung Kai mentioned a lot of elements of blue like waves, oceans, and moonlight skies even if he does not directly say blue in the song. “I feel like people that [will] listen to my song, they will be like, ‘right, that’s blue. That sounds like blue,” he said.
This song is related to a young love- where one was in love with someone and he is imagining the sweet moments they could be doing together. Listening to this song makes someone feel assured that the love they have will not fade in time. Assurance is something that everyone is looking for and wants to hear from their loved ones.

Bad is the first track in 0.1 flaws and all album released on April 20, 2023 of the South Korean Indie Rock Band, Wave to Earth. In this album, Wave to Earth once again finds their love for making music. Daniel Kim, member of the band, mentioned in their 0.1 flaws and all documentary that embracing his flaws(which he referred to as music) helps him to show who he really is and face others more honestly. This created a masterpiece that now people enjoy.
Bad is a romantic song that tells a story about someone recently having ordinary days. When he thought that there’s nothing left to watch, he went to the park. There, he fell in love with a girl. Starting that day, his ordinary days become meaningful because of her. When they are finally together, his days become even more special. Being with her makes his world complete and everything becomes alright.

The man in this song proclaimed himself as a soldier who will fight for his partner and their love in a world full of chaos. He will be the one to protect her from any harm. She can lean on him when life gets tough.
This song gives a feeling of warmth to the listeners like a hug we need when we are alone. It also gives a sense of security to those who are fighting for their lives. This song tells a story about a guy who was going through a hard time in his life and it comes to the point where the girl he loves is being affected by it. The girl is in pain for loving him but she hides it so that the guy will not blame himself. But he saw through her and instead of ending the relationship that they have, he wants to become a better man for her so she wouldn’t cry anymore because of him.
Some people tend to end a relationship when they go through hardships in life. Not because they don’t love the person but because they are afraid that the person they love might get hurt because of them being miserable. It is the part where they both hurt each other. Instead of letting go, the man in the song chooses to change himself into someone deserving to her loved ones and both of them fight for love.
Risk It All – The Vamps

Risk It All is a song by British pop rock band, The Vamps. This song was released in 2014 as part of the band’s debut album, “Meet The Vamps.” Genius described this as a song about wanting to risk everything for love no matter what the consequences will be.
The protagonist is sure that the girl he’s talking about in the song is the one for him. She’s the only one who could hurt him badly. But still, he said that he could do everything just to have her love. Moreover, he said that he will not give up. He would rather be miserable than never have her love at all.
It is not easy to risk everything just for the sake of love. Having someone who is so sure about you could happen just once in a lifetime. If you get to have this love, you could consider yourself lucky. Everyone deserves to be loved all in. Every person is worthy of unconditional love. Love should not be given half-heartedly or with hesitation.

Through these songs, I’ve learned that love is not begged, it is given. It should make someone feel better. It should make you feel safe and secure as well. It should change you for the better. And finally, love is about the willingness to experience its downside.
We all know that love is not perfect. No one can experience a love so perfect because in any case, there will still be a problem. But love shouldn’t be a hard one that makes someone feel that he or she is alone.
Moreover, love happens between two people. It is like a straight line with two people at both ends. In order to have a balance, they should meet in the middle at the same pace. If someone steps forward, the other one has to step forward as well.
Don’t settle for less. If this is not the love you are experiencing, should it be called love?
