FOR ONEs, for sure, know that P-pop boy group 1st One will drop a new single this year.
But little did they know, something bigger awaits them as 1st One prepares for its much anticipated extended play (EP).
Nothing much has been said about the EP, including its title and release date, but 1st One revealed that the forthcoming single “Alam Mo Ba” will be its first track.
Marking the group’s second music release for 2025, “Alam Mo Ba” speaks about the complexities of a “situationship”—a modern form of relationship popular among members of Generation Z.
Gen Zs define “situationship” as a romantic relationship between two persons without a formal label. In short, they are more than friends but less than lovers.
In a press statement, 1st One said the new single follows a girl caught between a person she loves but continues to inflict her with emotional pain and a boy with unreciprocated feelings for her.
While “Alam Mo Ba” has heart-wrenching lyrics, 1st One blends a catchy beat and lively rhythm that will surely make listeners groove.
“This duality of the upbeat, high-octane sound and heavy subject matter will resonate with many listeners, capturing the essence of love that’s complicated and unrequited,” the P-pop group said.
According to 1st One, “Alam Mo Ba” also speaks about knowing and valuing one’s worth. A part of a verse by rappers J, Alpha, and Jayson goes: “Now don’t believe him, don’t waste your time.” This is echoed by main vocals Ace, Joker, and Max, reminding listeners to “quit dulling your shine.”
“Alam Mo Ba” and its music video will be available on March 21.
1st One x Jobert Cristobal
But 1st One’s surprises for For Ones this year go beyond the release of its first EP and new single.
The six-piece act partnered with Filipino fashion designer Jobert Cristobal, who will exclusively design the members’ wardrobes and costumes for upcoming events and performances following the release of “Alam Mo Ba.”
Cristobal was one of the featured designers at the 2023 Vancouver Fashion Week. He is set to display his works at the 2025 Philippine Fashion Week.
“His designs are characterized by contemporary, radical aesthetics that get seamlessly and ingeniously blended into very Filipino pop culture elements,” 1st One said.
“The designs will undoubtedly resonate with 1st One’s beloved loyal fanbase and equally enhance 1st One’s artistic expression,” it added.
The 1st One members said this partnership is not just about fashion but also showcases the immense talents and creativity of Filipino artists like themselves and Cristobal.
Further details about the P-pop idols’ new looks will be revealed soon.
