1st One arrives in Malaysia for 2025 ROUND Festival

by Joanna Deala

P-POP boy group 1st One, who was recently named as the bearer of the historic Murillo Velarde 1734 map, finally set foot in Malaysia to represent the Philippines at the 2025 ROUND Festival.

On social media, members Ace, Alpha, J, Jayson, Joker, and Max shared group photos at the airport wearing their black 1st One hoodies.

“Touchdown, Malaysia! See you all for #ROUNDinMalaysia!” the caption read.

Before they left the Philippines, the P-pop idols met with several fans who sent them off with warm wishes and cheers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

They also visited the office of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in Intramuros, Manila, where they met NCCA Executive Director Eric B. Zerrudo, Ph.D to discuss their upcoming participation in the festival and the importance of representing the country on the international stage.

1st One is set to debut its newest single “Map Your Vibe” at the festival, which will be held at Zepp Kuala Lumpur from June 21 to 22.

Inspired by the Murillo Velarde 1734 map, or the “Mother of Philippine Maps,” the song narrates each individual’s unique journey toward their dreams, aspirations, and hopes. The P-pop group earlier gave a teaser of “Map Your Vibe,” which features a mix of Tagalog and English lyrics.

Several artists from other Asian countries will also perform at the event, which will be hosted by South Korean singer-songwriter Paul Kim.

1st One will be joined by South Korea’s Touched, Vietnam’s Minh Tôc & Lam, Myanmar’s He’ Lay, Lao PDR’s Thay Champasak, Singapore’s Yung Raja, and Malaysia’s Marsha Milan on the first day of the 2025 ROUND Festival.

The six-piece act is also expected to turn over a commemorative Murillo Velarde 1734 map to Sentro Rizal at the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
