P-POP rookie boy group 1621BC made a bolder and braver comeback to the music scene, opening the new year with a new single, “Bagamundo.”

The six-member group, composed of JM, JC, Pan, Win, Migz, and DJ, dropped their newest upbeat track on Friday, January 10, which shows their determination to overcome life’s challenges and achieve their dreams.

“It’s about a story of achieving one’s dream through years of travel and developing the most interesting individual characters who strive hard in pursuing their dream of becoming somebody someday,” 1621BC said in a press statement.

The single was accompanied by a lyric video posted on Star Music’s YouTube channel.

“Bagamundo’s” lyrics are a mix of Tagalog and English, composed and produced by Kiko “Kikx” Salazar and Derick “OC-J” Gernale, in collaboration with Perry Lansigan.

Meanwhile, StarPop label head Roque “Rox” Santos served as its supervising producer.

In a social media post, the members shared a dance practice video for “Bagamundo,” encouraging their fans to jump into the song’s dance challenge.

“Bagamundo” is 1621BC’s first music release for 2025, which followed its self-titled extended play (EP) in 2024.

1621BC first teased its latest track in December 2024, marking its “new era.” The 1621BC members were joined by P-pop girl group KAIA in their “Bagamundo” dance challenge during a New Year’s Eve countdown event at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

About 1621BC

1621BC officially entered the Original Pinoy Music (OPM) scene in November 2023 under Star Pop and PPL Entertainment.

The number “1621” in the group’s name refers to the angel number manifestation which is believed to represent success and fulfillment. “BC,” on the other hand, stands for “Beyond Complete” which means that the group strives for perfection.

Before their debut, the six members were part of the survival reality show, “Dream Maker,” which formed the all-Filipino global pop group HORI7ON.

1621BC’s first single was “Laruan,” which talked about the toxicity of a relationship and dealing with heartbreaks.

The rookie idols previously said they felt “excited” yet “nervous” about their debut in the music industry.

“‘Yun po siguro talaga ang normal na mararamdaman kasi dugo at pawis po ang binigay po ng lahat, including the people who made this possible for us,” they stressed.

1621BC was recently named “PPOP Potential” at the PPOP Music Awards 2024, held at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City last December.
