THE Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025 announced that 121 universities in the Philippines were recognized, marking another significant achievement within the Philippine academe.
The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings is an assessment of where universities will be evaluated based on their progress towards the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
SGD covers a wide range of global issues that center on environmental sustainability, social inclusion, economic growth, clean energy, and global partnerships.
This year, the rankings saw a record participation of 2,526 universities from 130 countries and regions.
Among the universities that ranked as one of the most notable institutions are Ateneo de Manila University, which ranked in the 101-200 global bracket, Batangas State University, Isabela State University, and the University of the Philippines, which are ranked in the 401–600 global bracket.
This year’s ranking was even more impressive, as there is an increase from the previous 56 institutions last year that ranked schools among all Southeast Asian nations.
The University of Santo Tomas (UST) retained its position in the 601-800 band.
Caraga State University–Ampayon Campus, Ifugao State University, Mariano Marcos State University, Leyte Normal University, and Saint Louis University also entered the bracket of the 601-800 band.
