Fast-rising doctor vloggers

NOW that the digital world is the new mainstream, people from all walks of life are making their name and money on social media. 

Gone are the days when only celebrities and famous personalities dominate and generate influence on people. On social media platforms, we see all sorts of professionals, even doctors. A lot of them have become breakout social media stars during the pandemic when people relied heavily on the internet. 

Because of this, these medical professionals are now among the most followed on Instagram, YouTube and most especially Tiktok, where they discuss medical issues, their lives as doctors, and even their personal lives. 

Let’s get to know some of the doctors who are certified social media superstars. 

  1. Doc Alvin Francisco

Doc Alvin Francisco is one of the most familiar faces among the doctor-influencers in the country. He is a radiology resident who does “Doctor reacts” videos on YouTube. He first went viral when he uploaded a reaction on comedian Michael V’s Covid case. 

Now, he has 578,000 subscribers on YouTube and 110,000 followers on Instagram. 

  1. Doc Dex Macalintal

Doc Dex Macalintal is a double-board certified professional, being both a registered nutritionist-dietitian and a licensed physician. He specializes in lifestyle medicine. 

On his YouTube, channel, he discusses various medical issues. He focuses mostly on diet, nutrition, and various medical conditions. 

He currently has 237,000 followers on YouTube. 

  1. Doc Jerry Cua 

Doc Jerry Cua is a graduate of medicine from the University of Santo Tomas. This chinito cutie practices General Medicine and has an impressive social media following. 

He currently has 170,000 subscribers on YouTube and 66,700 followers on Instagram. 

He, too, is very good friends with Doc Alvin.

  1. Adrian Insigne 

Doc Adrian Insigne is a 24-year-old post-grad medical intern who, even prior to becoming a professional, is already a social media superstar. He has been popular on social media not only for his stunning good looks. 

He was even featured on GMA 7’s “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho.” 

As of writing, he has 14,400 subscribers on YouTube, 187,000 followers on Instagram and 350,000 followers on Facebook.

  1. Doc Krizzle Luna

Joke lang po! 

If you are an avid Tiktok user, you sure know Doc Krizle and her famous line. This registered  medical technologist and licensed medical doctor is one of the most familiar faces online. 

With an impressive YouTube following of 289,000 subscribers, 198,000 followers on Instagram and 1.1 million on Facebook, it is no wonder that she has achieved quite a feat outside the medical world. 

She has also made guestings in various programs such as GMA’s “Unang Hirit” and YouTube program “Toni Talks.”   

Her Instagram feed also shows a number of brand partnerships she’s had through the years. 

She recently figured in an accident and had to undergo an operation to realign her spine. 

  1. Doc Willie Ong

The most prominent of them all would have to be Doc Willie Ong, who is best remembered by many as a Vice Presidential candidate during the 2022 elections. 

By background, he is an internist and a cardiologist who provides in-depth explanations of medical topics on his YouTube channel, which has an overwhelming 8.2 million subscribers.

He is married to Doc Liza Ramoso-Ong who is a content creator as well. 

7. Junjie Arapan

Doc Junjie Arapan is among the medical doctors who rose to fame during the pandemic. He is among the steadfast doctors who explain to people why medical professionals pleaded for timeout at the height of the contagion. Apart from the coronavirus, this funny doctor also does laughter-inducing videos and often collaborates with other vlogger physicians.
