Fans hope for Jamie Miller, Stell, Sarah G collab

by Joanna Deala

WELSH singer-songwriter Jamie Miller visited the country for his first-ever fan meeting, and Filipinos could not get enough of him.

Prior to his arrival, his fans hoped to see him interacting with Filipino artists.

Their wish was granted as the 26-year-old collaborated with OPM singer Moira Dela Torre for his song Maybe Next Time, which they performed live at the Wish Bus on September 27.

While this thrilled the fans, they craved for more duets between Miller and Filipino singers.

It is a possibility, as Miller told republicasia that he might have a few collaborations in the pipeline. A Manila concert is also possible, he said.

If you ask Miller’s fans, they already have artists in mind who they want to see perform with him.

Two of the artists that topped their list are Stell of P-pop superstar SB19 and Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo.

Andeng Villa, 24, told republicasia that Stell and Miller would surely come up with something great because of their divine vocals.

“Yung boses ni Jamie and Stell is sobrang nagsa-swak. I think it [will be] a great collaboration [between] Jamie Miller and Stell,” Villa said, following Miller’s fan meeting at the UP Town Center on September 30.

Niño Dante, 21, shared the same sentiment and said that this is the collaboration he has been hoping to happen.

“‘Di ko sure kung parehas sila ng vocal range pero masasabi ko lang, ang taas ng vocal range nila and sana mamana ko yon,” he said.

A collaboration between the two might not be far-fetched.

Miller earlier posted a video of him dancing to SB19’s hit GENTO. He also tagged the social media pages of Stell and the P-pop group.

Meanwhile, fans Glaiza Gaton, 33, and Eunice Andrade, 32, were hoping for Miller to work with Geronimo.

Andrade and Gaton believe that Miller and Geronimo would also make a legendary team up because both of them have exceptional singing skills.

“Alam naman natin [na] si Sarah G sikat na and sobrang legendary na siya when it comes to OPM, and syempre kilalang-kilala mga songs niya,” Gaton said.

“Siguro mas magiging masaya yung fans ni Jamie Miller kung isang Sarah G yung magiging ka-collab niya,” she added.

Andrade chipped in, “Magaling din kasi astig din si Sarah.”

While Miller has yet to collaborate with the two Pinoy singers, Geronimo and SB19 worked together in August for a song titled Ace Your World. The song was part of the 20th anniversary of a tech company for which they are brand ambassadors.

Miller x Dela Torre collab

The fans also praised Miller and Dela Torre for their live performance of the song Maybe Next Time at the Wish Bus.

Villa said she felt pain as the song resonated with her. The song made her realize that her worth can never be defined by anyone, she added.

“Parang nandoon ako sa state ng life ko na kinukwestyon ko yung worth ko and it connects doon sa song na No Matter What, na when you feel na hindi ka enough ngayon, always remember that you’re always enough no matter what,” she said.

“Hindi tao yung magdedefine ng worth mo,” she continued.

Dante, on the other hand, shared that the song became his favorite after watching the performance.

“Napaka-amazing lang na ma-experience na makita ko yung live performance nilang dalawa,” he said.

For Andrade, the collaboration made her happy and proud of Filipino talent.

More collabs

The fans are hoping that Miller will come back to the country to do more shows.

Andrade and Villa said they are looking forward to his first solo concert in Manila.

“Thank you for spending your time kahit sobrang short lang siya pero sobrang napasaya [mo] yung mga fans and sana bumalik [ka] dito sa Manila. Concert naman next,” Andrade said.

Villa also wishes to see the Welsh singer have more interactions with fans.

“I’m looking forward na mas makita ka pa not only at the fan meet, but also I want to have a duet, like a quick duet with you,” she said.

She did not miss the chance to express her gratitude to Miller for his music.

“Thank you for inspiring me and saving me [through your] music,” she added.

Dante assured the singer that fans will always welcome him whenever he returns to the Philippines.
