Famous personalities who said ‘I do’ in Baguio City

MANY say Baguio City is the perfect wedding destination because of its uniquely charming, picturesque, cool mountain vibe.

Its cold weather and enchanting views make for postcard-perfect photos that will surely take any celebration to a whole new level. 

This is why Baguio has been the destination of choice of famous personalities who have said yes to forever and decided to tie the know with their significant others. 

  1. Maine Mendoza and Arjo Atayde

The latest couple who chose to make the summer capital their wedding venue are TV host Maine Mendoza and actor Arjo Atayde, who said I do after more than four years together. 

The intimate ceremony that took place at the Alphaland Baguio Mountain Lodges Chapel was attended by the couple’s family and close friends from in and out of showbiz. 

Despite the inclement weather, big stars close to the couple came to the City of Pines to celebrate the couple’s union

  1. Ara Mina and Dave Almarinez

Actress Ara Mina married businessman Dave Almarinez in an intimate yet extravagant wedding also at the Alphaland Baguio Mountain Lodges. Everything looked as if it’s straight out of a fairy tale. 

Ara looked every inch like a real-life Disney princess in her Leo Almodal wedding gown. As for the venue styling, a lush arrangement of white blooms, candles and chandeliers filled the venue, perfectly matching the enchanting vibe of the city.

The wedding of Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzales on May 28, 2001 at the St. Joseph the Worker Parish Church in Baguio City was unforgettable for many. It was then dubbed the wedding of the new millennium and wad well-attended by some of the biggest names in the industry, including film producer Lily Monteverde, Senator Loren Legarda, ABS-CBN bigwigs Gabby Lopez and Freddie Garcia. 

The venue was adorned with multi-colored blooms that made the ceremony even more arresting. 

  1. Sitti Navarro and Joey Ramirez

Bossa Nova queen Sitti Navarro wed her non-showbiz husband on May 9, 2015. 

They were married in two venues: first at the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, and  second in a garden wedding at the Baguio Country Club. 

As could be expected from Baguio weather, there were a few rain showers in the afternoon, but it did not stop the couple’s union. 

  1. Saab Magalona and Jim Bacarro 

Podcaster and singer Saab Magalona married Jim Bacarro on January 24, 2015 at the St. Ignatius Chapel inside the Philippine Military Academy in Baguio City.

The reception of the wedding followed at the Baguio Country Club, and the groomsmen amused the guests when they dressed up as jedi knights with lightsabers to welcome the couple to the ballroom. 

  1. The late former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. and former First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos

Prior to their wedding at the Pro Cathedral of San Miguel in Manila on May 1, 1954, the former first couple tied the knot in a civil ceremony in Baguio City on April 22, 1954. 

The ceremony was held at the old municipal building which was then located at Kesbeng, Poblacion. The ceremonies were officiated by Judge Francisco Ma. Chanco. Among their principal sponsors were the late mayor of La Trinidad, Larry Ogas.
