In an interview with republicasia, Feng Shui Expert Master Hanz Cua revealed some of the “must-have” lucky charms for this year. When asked if there is a special charm, a golden snake charm is required.

“Ang 2025, ang pinakapaborito nating charm, syempre, ay ang snake. Ang pagdi-display ng lucky charm na snake. Ilalagay yan sa southeast direction,” said the Feng Shui Expert.

Meanwhile, Cua stated that this charm can be displayed by people of all zodiac signs, with the exception of those born in the Year of the Pig, as the pig and the snake are not on good terms this year.

“Bawal lang po ha, kay pig, dahil kalaban ni pig ang snake. Kung ikaw po ay mommy o daddy, o nasa bahay ka’t mayroon kang snake na display, ito po ay hindi swerte sayo, kaya iwasan mo ‘yan,” he explained.

Aside from displaying a snake charm inside your home or workplace, a monkey charm is thought to bring luck given that the two are bestfriends.

“Ang monkey kasi is bestfriend ng year of the snake. Magdadala yan ng opportunity star sayo, kaya this year maganda maglagay ng monkey. Ilagay po ‘yan southwest direction,” said Cua.

Lucky Foods for CNY Celebration

There is always a set of lucky meals that must be present on your table during the New Year’s celebration. The most important foods during Chinese New Year (CNY) this year are 12 different types of fruits, tikoy, and noodles. 

According to Master Hanz, presenting 12 different fruits promotes a good overall energy for the entire year. This year, any type of fruit will suffice; round fruits are not the only ones required.

“Labindalawang klase ng prutas to signify labing dalawang buwan sa isang taon na fruitful, masagana, prosperous, at masaya.

“Any kind of fruits, kahit hindi bilog ay pwedeng i-display na prutas,” Master Hanz said.

If there is fruit salad in our annual celebrations, there is also tikoy for CNY. The delicious sticky rice cake is customarily eaten on this occasion, as it is thought to attract a sweet and sticky relationship for the family in the next year. 

Furthermore, noodles or pansit are an ideal delicacy to serve during the festivities since they are thought to offer longevity or long life to all members of the family.

Watch Out for These

Meanwhile, despite having all of these charms, there are a few things that all Filipinos must be wary of, because possessing lucky charms does not imply we may live our lives unguarded or unchecked every day. 

For wealth, whether in business or in any other career, an individual must keep money in their wallet at all times so that it does not run out. Credit cards, debt receipts, and calling cards must all be removed. 

Master Hanz stated that the disease or sickeness star is active this year. To avoid diseases, it is best to consult doctors on a regular basis.

“Make sure na pumunta kay Doc. Sa Feng Shui side naman, maglagay ng Holy Gourd ng Holo na Medicine Buddha sa center ng bahay o ng kwarto, para maiwasan ang illness star,” said Cua.

This year would be difficult for love since the year of the snake represents a year of “ahasan” or betrayal. Here are some Feng Shui steps you can do to counteract it.

“Ang 2025 ay year of ahasan. Kaya naman, bantayan ang relasyon, and spend more time with your partner. Kung ikaw naman ay single, huwag basta-basta ibigay ang emosyon, huwag basta-basta mahuhulog,” he added.

Wearing an Evil Eye, or placing it in the bedroom or door, will prevent those with ill intentions from entering. Wearing Rose Quartz and displaying the “Happy Couple” symbol will help enhance your love and affection. 

A Kind Reminder

While these artifacts might serve as symbols of hope and reassurance, it’s important to remember that actual luck isn’t only about relying on them.

At the end of the day, real success comes from action, determination, and the correct mindset. 

All of these beliefs about charms bringing good luck and keeping bad luck out of our life will always require an acting counterpart given that we cannot rely completely on them.

“Ang mga lucky charms ay walang guarantee, walang promise po ‘yan. Ikaw pa rin po ang gumagawa ng swerte niyo po, dahil nasa inyong mga kamay nakasalalay ang iyong mga tagumpay,” Master Hanz insisted. 

This year is a time for change and progress, and relying entirely on external factors such as charms will not yield the necessary results in life. Instead, Filipinos should integrate cultural traditions with practical action. 

Luck isn’t only about waiting for a charm to work. It’s about recognizing your own ability to build your own fortune, following your aspirations, and viewing every setback as an opportunity for growth.
