Jorhomy “Jho” Rovero, fiancée of actor Andrew Schimmer passed away yesterday, December 20 after the couple’s unrelenting fight against Rovero’s health complications.

Schimmer has been known by many Facebook users as he used the platform to update concerned netizens regarding his live-in partner’s condition in her long-term hospitalization due to severe asthma that further led to cardiac arrest and hypoxemia.

The birth of the couple’s struggle

In November 2021, Rovero was first hospitalized due to severe asthma that led to brain hypoxia.

According to The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, cerebral hypoxia is a neurological condition in which the oxygen supply in the brain decreases despite adequate blood flow.

Schimmer was able to take Rovero home after spending a year at the intensive care unit (ICU) of St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City.

However, Schimmer posted on Facebook saying that Rovero had to be rushed back to ICU in October 2022 to stabilize her heart rate.

Since then, Schimmer has been asking netizens for their prayers in Rovero’s complete recovery.

Schimmer’s wedding preparations

In a December 14 Facebook post, Schimmer shared his plans of marrying his long-time live-in partner.

According to the actor, “We will not wait anymore for the right moment to come. By God’s grace, it will happen.”

The post also contained a photo of two gold wedding bands that the couple is supposed to wear for their church matrimony.

Unfortunately, the couple wasn’t able to exchange their wedding vows as Rovero’s death came a week after Schimmer shared the wedding preparations.

Rovero’s death

Rovero was seen slowly recovering from health complications in Schimmer’s November 5 post. According to the actor, Rovero’s self-breathing is coming back and her kidneys are almost clearing up as per doctor’s reports.

The couple’s children were also able to visit their mother early December before her dialysis. Although Rovero’s blood pressure would sometimes drop, Schimmer assured netizens that her vitals were stable and their family was hoping they could spend the Christmas holidays with Rovero at home.

That’s why Rovero’s death came as a surprise to many netizens as most are hoping for her safe recovery.

In a Facebook video, Schimmer emotionally told netizens that he was in the middle of a TV show shooting when doctors called him regarding Rovero’s critical situation.

“Inabutan natin siyang nire-revive ng ating mga doctors and nurses. They did everything they could. Masakit lang. Gusto ko lang ibalita sa inyo,” he said.

At the end of the video, Schimmer thanked fans and other netizens for their prayers and help during this tough time.

“Guys, maraming, maraming salamat sa mga nagdasal, sa mga taong di nakalimot sa amin. Thank you. Ang sakit lang kasi birthday ng bunso namin mamaya. Hindi siya inabutan ng bunso namin,” Schimmer added.
