Daniel Padilla changes caption on KathNiel breakup post

by Gaby Agbulos

LAST November 30, Filipinos from all over the world were shaken to find out that Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, one of the most popular love teams in Philippine showbiz, had broken up.

Both posted heartfelt messages for one another on their respective Instagram pages, talking about their 12-year relationship and how hard they will always hold love for one another despite parting ways.

“I’m well aware of the rumors and speculations going around, and as hard as it is to put everything into words, I want you to hear it straight from me: It’s true that Deej and I have decided to part ways,” Bernardo wrote.

“What Deej and I had was real. It was never for show. We were together not because of the cameras, not because of the fans, not because of the money that comes with a successful love team. We were genuinely in love.”

On his Instagram, Padilla wrote: “Sa mundo, buhay at sa limitadong oras na tayo ay nandito, isang malaking biyaya ang pagmamahal. Ang mahalin ka. At mahalin mo. Ang mga alaala natin ay lagi kong baon sa aking puso at magiging liwanag sa mga madidilim kong araw.”

“Thank you for dancing with me during my highs and thank you for singing with me during my lows. Our lives may drift away, but our love will still ride that tide.”

Padilla also included a message to their fans, then ended the post by saying: “Bal, ang pag mamahal ko sayo ay walang hanggan at walang katapusan.”

People were quick to notice, though, that as of December 15, Padilla had removed this caption entirely.

At present, the only thing still present are three words: “Ikaw at ako.” Whether this means that the two have gotten back together or not, though, remains unanswered.

As of today, Bernardo’s Instagram caption has remained the same.

Interactions at AAA

Fans also couldn’t help but feel kilig as they saw Bernardo and Padilla arrive together at the Asia Artist Awards at the Philippine Arena on Thursday.

The two were given the Fabulous Award alongside K-pop groups Stray Kids and New Jeans, and Korean singer Lim Young-woong.

Upon accepting their award, the two held hands as they walked up to the stage.

They also performed a number together, singing “I’ll Be There For You” by The Rembrandts, more popularly known as the theme song of the show “FRIENDS.”

In another clip from fans, Padilla and Bernardo were seen sitting at separate tables. However, Padilla approached Bernardo and offered her his jacket, and the two were seen talking after this.

While others feel that these may be signs of them getting back together, others felt that their interactions were forced. One netizen shares how, in one clip together, it looked as if Bernardo wanted nothing more than for the moment to end.

Others share their sentiments about the whole situation, disappointed because just a few days prior fans wanted her to end the relationship after cheating allegations against Padilla started to surface, but now want her to get back together with the actor after the awards show.
