BAGUIO CITY– It’s official. The Baguio City Public Order and Safety Division (POSD) announced that the search for the owner of the left pair of a beige wedge sandal found inside the Baguio City Public Market is over.
“Cinderella has escaped the attic and has come to claim her sandal!!!” the POSD posted on its Facebook page.
But the identity of Cinderella remains a mystery. The POSD said it will release her identity “when the time comes.”
“She will come back tomorrow for the final reveal! 
” the POSD said.
What happened Cindy?
According to Baguio’s Cinderella, she was supposed to wear her newly bought pair of sandals on January 30, 2023.
She didn’t realize it fell from her bag. She only realized that it was missing when she brought her footwear out from the bag.
The wedge that went viral
POSD posted the picture of the left “pairless” sandal on its social media page on January 26, 2023. One of its personnel found the item on January 23, 2023 just after the clock ticked 12, a scene that is familiar to the people who know the story of Cinderella.
The post went viral as the story of the lost and found left sandal was likened to that of the famous fairy tale.
Netizens and the rest of the people of Baguio were tickled when the POSD advised the owner to just simply present the right sandal in order to claim the left pair. The announcement also made the people giggle as the POSD left a post script saying, ” …You may bring your Prince Charming who would put the sandal on you…if it fits!”.
Clueless Cindy
As the post went viral, the owner meanwhile was not aware that her sandal has become famous.
“She then went out to try and trace back her steps on that fateful day in the hopes that somebody had picked it up and safely kept it for her,” the POSD stated.
While she was asking around inside the Maharlika Livelihood Complex for the missing sandal, somebody approached her and told her about the “Cinderella” sandal.
She was informed about how famous her sandal was. She then claimed it at the POSD office at the Baguio City Public Market.
Big reveal
According to POSD, the owner will be coming back on January 31, 2023.
“One thing we can reveal for now is that she is a strong and bubbly woman with a beautiful personality, just like Cinderella,” the office gladly disclosed.
