Chill date ideas in Baguio

by Joyce Remo

THE City of Pines located in Benguet Province is probably one of the most versatile travel destinations in the Philippines.

Travelers from all over the country and abroad flock to Baguio City regardless of the season — summer vacation, Christmas, New Year’s Day, and even during Valentine’s Day.

Because of the constantly growing tourism in Baguio, locals have established an assortment of places to help tourists enjoy their stay.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, republicasia listed some romantic but chill date ideas in Baguio that you can enjoy with your significant other.

Who doesn’t like breakfast dates?!

Sick of the humid and polluted mornings in the metro? Try going to Baguio early in the morning to breathe in fresh and chilly morning air that will surely awaken your coffee craving!

Situated in Brent Road, Extremely Xpresso Café is the perfect place to make your breakfast date wishes come true.

This restaurant serves breakfast all day, with their carte du jour ranging from burgers, sandwiches, pastas, and deserts.

Tourists can also enjoy a variety of coffee and other drinks while chilling in its casual bistro style interior.

Shop locally published books

Still in Brent Road, bookworms and book hoarders alike will have the time of their lives in this local bookstore called Mt. Cloud.

The shop offers a wide variety of local titles in various genres such as historical non-fiction, fiction, children’s books, comics, and photo books, to name a few.

It also has a warm comfy room where you may read your newly-purchased books.

Chill in comfy cat-themed cafe

Upon descending below Mt. Cloud, visitors can unwind in this cat-themed cafe called Hot Cat.

Surrounded by towering pine trees, customers can enjoy both hot and cold beverages like coffee, tea, and non-caffeinated drinks while feeling the cool breeze in Baguio City.

Although the presence of real cats is missing, Hot Cat displays a collection of cat decorations within its vicinity for an extra-level of cuteness experience!

This coffee shop also offers free internet access and is remote-work friendly!

Gulay and the city

Your Baguio experience will not be complete without trying out one of the classic restaurants in the city.

Located in the vibrant Session Road near Burnham Park, Oh My Gulay is not just a restaurant that serves awesome entrees, it wil also satisfy customers’ hungry eyes because of its classy, sophisticated interior.

This restaurant offers flavorful vegetarian recipes inside the La Azotea building. In Oh My Gulay, diners also have access to a beautiful view of Baguio City from above. It is best enjoyed while the sun is setting.
