Cebu Pacific offers HK seat sale as restrictions ease

by Jericho Zafra

TIME to plan your vacations! Cebu Pacific said everyone can now travel to Hong Kong on a P499 one-way base fare.

The airline announced the seat sale as Hong Kong eased pandemic restrictions.

In a statement, Cebu Pacific said that those who are planning to travel to Hong Kong can now book their flights for as low as P499 for a one-way ticket. The seat sale period will run until January 31, while the travel period is from June 1 to August 31, 2023.

Cebu Pacific is now flying four times daily to Hong Kong after its government relaxed COVID-19 protocols for inbound travelers in the country.

It likewise said that existing Travel Funds of passengers could be used to pay for flights and other add-ons. Other payment options, such as payment centers, credit or debit cards, and e-wallets, may be utilized in addition to the Travel Fund.

What are the requirements?

According to Cebu Pacific, travelers must show a negative antigen test result taken within 24 hours or a negative 48-hour RT-PCR result at the time of check-in.

Inbound travelers are also required to bring proof of primary dose vaccination, especially  non-Hong Kong residents who are 12 years old or older, it said.

COVID-19 test results can also be filed online via the Hong Kong government’s Health and Quarantine Information Declaration.

Travelers may submit their COVID-19 results here: https://www.chp.gov.hk/hdf/

Tourists are also advised to keep photos of their test results for 90 days, it said.

What should you do upon arrival?

Travelers arriving in Hong Kong are advised to undergo a self-arranged antigen test every day until the fifth day of their arrival.

Antigen test results can be submitted through the Hong Kong government’s Electronic COVID-19 Monitoring and Surveillance System.

Cebu Pacific plans to fully restore 100 percent of its pre-COVID network and capacity in March. It currently flies to 34 domestic locations, and in the first quarter, it plans to resume operations to all 25 of its international destinations, it said.

In December 2022, the Civil Aeronautics Board said that airfares are expected to be cheaper starting in January due to a reduction in fuel surcharge.

A fuel surcharge is an additional fee on top of the airfare to pay for the expense of airline fuel.
