Ayala Avenue lights up for Christmas

THE long stretch of Ayala Avenue in Makati City was again lit up, as giant and colorful parols were lit up, signaling and reminding  us that Christmas is just around the corner.

The ceremonial lighting is an annual event in Ayala, particularly the Makati Central Business District.

Huge and colorful lanterns lit the streets where one can take an instagram post.

Among the giant lanterns were made of Capiz and moving lights.

The attractions include the illuminated wreath which organizers said symbolizes unity and growth.

Ayala Avenue is a two-kilometer stretch to which the lanterns some of which came from Pampanga, said to be the parol capital of the Philippines.

The design of the Ayala Christmas Light festivities was headed by Zenas Pineda.

Ayala Land President and CEO Anna Ma.Margarita B. “Meean” Dy said that they are lighting the street to bring hope to Filipinos.

“Amidst the glow of the Filipino Lanterns or parol reused from last year in keeping in Ayala lands trust we welcome the season with hope with optimism and with gratitude,” she said.

Makati City 2nd District Con. Luis Campos said the Christmas lights symbolizes the Filipinos continued fight against the pandemic.

“We are happy to be part of the Makati experience and we would do our part to keep it sustainable. We are glad that we are recovering this is the second time we will be experiencing the lights post pandemic so I hope the spirit of this season permeates the hearts of everybody,” he said.

The said decoration will last until January 14, 2024.

“This is very important because this heralds the start of christmas season in Makati so we were the first to do this and this is something na we want to retain for the communities we really look forward to this more than the occasion, more than the beautiful decors its the bonding the relationship that they have the families their friends their significant others,” Chrissy Roa, Group Head of Marketing and Communications, Ayala land Corp., Estates and Ayala Malls said.

One of the highly anticipated events among these celebrations is the annual Festival of Lights, currently in its 15th year, featuring the theme “Christmas Nights with Countless” and three different light and sound performances starting on November 14.

The initial segment, known as Kaleidoscope of Sight, Sound, and Light, presents a mix of Filipino Christmas songs commonly associated with Simbang Gabi.

Among those present include Laurent Lamasuta, President of Ayala Property Management Corporation; Robert Lao, Senior Vice President and Group Head of Ayala Land Estates, also representing MACEA; Mariana Zobel de Ayala, Ayala Land Inc. Senior Vice President and Leasing and Hospitality Group Head; Hon. Luis Campos, Second District Representative, Congressman of Makati; Meean Dy, President and CEO of Ayala Land; Hon. Monique Lagdameo, Vice Mayor of Makati; Mel Ignacio, Senior Vice President of Ayala Land Estates; Dindo Fernando, Head of External Affairs of Ayala Land.
