Ariana Grande teases new music in 2024

by Joanna Deala

2024 is just around the corner and most of us, if not all, are excited about what it will bring. And for fans of Ariana Grande, it’s the new album that the pop icon will drop next year.

The two-time Grammy Award-winner thrilled her fans, collectively known as Arianators, with a carousel of photos and clips of her journey to creating what will be her seventh album since “Positions” in 2020.

“See you next year,” Grande captioned her post on Instagram, which included a photo of Polaroid pictures where she tagged various individuals, including producer Ilya Salmanzadeh, and record label Republic Records.

The post also showed photos of her in a recording studio, several products of her makeup line R.E.M., and a warehouse.

There was a clip of her mom, Joan, dancing and a video of the singer-songwriter lying on a sofa where she was asked by an individual about what exactly she was feeling now that it was “almost the last day of this album.”

“I’m so tired but so happy and grateful,” Grande responded and laughed. “I also feel like I weigh 3,000 tons. I can’t move.”

This announcement came two weeks after it was reported that Grande went on a separate way with her longtime manager SB Projects and signed with the newly-launched Good World Management.

The 30-year-old singer had been dropping hints about her new music this month. On December 7, she shared a series of photos and videos that showed her working at a recording studio. But the clips showing her arranging her song and singing to it were muted, making her fans curious.

She teased more about her forthcoming music on December 17, when she posted an Instagram reel of her recording session, but the parts where she was singing had no sounds again.

In August 2023, Grande had a week-long celebration of the 10th year of her “Yours Truly,” where she offered a deluxe digital release of her debut album. She also dropped live performances of “Honeymoon Avenue,” “Daydreamin’,” “Baby I,” “Tattooed Heart,” “Right There,” and “The Way.”

‘Wicked’ film

Grande’s album is just one of the things that she will bring to Arianators in 2024, as she is also set to defy the gravity in the film adaptation of the Tony-winning musical “Wicked.”

The pop star, known for her role in Nickelodeon’s “Victorious,” will give life to Glinda, a witch in the Land of Oz. She will star alongside British stage actress Cynthia Erivo, who will portray Elphaba in the movie adaptation.

“Wicked” centers on how these two witches–Glinda and Elphaba–go from being enemies to unlikely friends. They have the same love interest named Fiyero, who will be played by “Bridgerton” star Jonathan Bailey.

The film adaptation will be split into two parts, according to director Jon M. Chu. The first movie is set to be released on November 27, 2024.
