Netizens were intrigued as to why ABS-CBN and GMA executives had an intimate dinner.
In an Instagram story by GMA Senior Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdez, she posted a photo of her together with GMA Network First Vice President for Program Management Joey Abacan, ABS-CBN Chief Content Officer Charo Santos and ABS-CBN Chief Operating Officer of Star Creatives Malou N. Santos.
This rare sight immediately sparked speculations that there might be something brewing behind the scenes for the warring networks.
Some see a possible network collaboration while others hunch another Kapamilya to Kapuso transfer.
“Great lunch meeting,” Gozon said.
Earlier this year, for the first time on Philippine television, ABS-CBN and GMA ended network wars by co-producing one of the newest series to look forward to in 2023, “Unbreak My Heart” which reunites Jodi Sta. Maria, Richard Yap, and Joshua Garcia, Gabbi Garcia and many others. It is a Dreamscape Entertainment production.
It can also be remembered that ABS-CBN licensed GMA to air Star Cinema movies.
The Santos sisters held very significant positions in ABS-CBN. Charo was once the President of the network while Malou was once Star Cinema’s Executive Director.
