On her official Instagram page, Kris Aquino posted a photo of her and her son, Bimby, greeting him on his 17th birthday on Friday, April 19.
The queen of All media on Instagram reminisced when Bimby, whom she calls her guardian angel, was born. She said Bimby and her eldest son, Josh, kept her company while being quarantined due to the several vaccines she had to take.
As much as she didn’t want to ruin the mood on her son’s special day, she couldn’t help but feel sorry for “showing weakness”.
She said she cried non-stop on the day before her son’s birthday from the fear that she might not be around her son’s 18th birthday next year due to her health condition.
Along with the fear was also her feeling bad for not being grateful against all odds – with 5 autoimmune conditions, 3 of them being life-threatening, she failed to see that there was light at the end of the tunnel.
“No matter how much physical pain I endure daily- my heart overflows with love because of your caring, selfless, unconditional love”, Kris said.
Kris said that her love for her son is definitely for eternity and wishes that her son’s character of being strong, admirable, and a great learner won’t change. “You’re my greatest achievement because of your capacity to love” She added.
Her last social media update was on February 14, her birthday. She said that she has been inactive on her social media and sharing about her current condition, “primarily because my news has mostly been sad”, she said.
She revealed battling with cardiomyopathy now. The said condition causes the heart muscles to pump blood poorly. In some cases, the muscles become disturbed leading to ‘irregular heartbeats’.
She emphasized her exhaustion and fear of dealing with cardiomyopathy and asked the public for prayers that it would not end up in Cardiac Arrest.
She also reunited with one of her closest showbiz friends, TV presenter and publicist, Boy Abunda, last year in October. “Seriously it was a heartwarming reunion. Boy freaked because I needed a shot while he was here. And he really hates needles.” Kris said.
In the comments of Kris’ birthday post for Bimby, her celebrity friends and fans left greetings for her son and showed encouragement and support for the star.
Filipino screenwriter Adolfo Alix Jr. commented: “Bimby is blessed to have you as a mother.”
Film actress and dancer, Jenny Miller, also left a birthday greeting for Bimby and prays that she recovers as soon as possible. “Pagaling ka pleaseeee,” she said.
Kris has been undergoing treatment at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) Medical Center, USA, since June 2022.
