‘Wednesday’ now in production for second season

GOOD news for “Wednesday” fans as the hit series will be back for a second season.

Netflix confirmed in a post that they are now in production for the second season of the series.

Since its debut in November last year, “Wednesday” has become the most anticipated show on Netflix in 2022. It was one of the most popular in the English TV shows list, ranking second with over 1.2 billion hours views in its first 28 days.

Production and release

It was in January 2023 when the second season for “Wednesday” was announced, although its production was delayed because of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

A featured clip showed that Thing was delivering scripts to Jenna Ortega and included some new cast members. The title for the first episode of season was also revealed as “Here We Woe Again.”

In an Instagram post, the American actress posted a picture of her in character to announce the upcoming season.

“We’ve begun season two,” Ortega wrote in her post on Tuesday. 

Cast

Last month, it was revealed that Steve Buscemi and Thandiwe Newton will be cast in the new season. Buscemi will star as Barry Dot, the new principal of Nevermore Academy, replacing Larissa Weems who was played by Gwendoline Christie. Newton will play the role of Dr. Fairburn.

It was also recently announced that “Doctor Who” star Billie Piper will be joining the “Wednesday” season 2 cast as Capri.

New cast members will also include Evie Templeton, Owen Painter and Noah Taylor.

Some of the cast members who will return are Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzman who play Morticia and Gomez Addams. 

Isaac Ordonez who plays as Pugsley will also return, as well as Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Victor Dorobantu and Fred Armisen.

But that’s not all—new guest stars will be joining the second season. They include Joanna Lumley as Grandmama, Christopher Lloyd, Frances O’Connor, child star Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo and “Star Wars” actor Joonas Suotamo.

Some netizens commented that they couldn’t wait for the series to be shown.

“I cannot wait to see this!!”

“This is touching!!! I can’t wait to see!”
