GILAS Pilipinas set a record in FIBA Asia, with 17 three-points, tying with Japan with the most triples in a single game during its match against Lebanon, Friday night, February 24.

In front of a Filipino crowd, the national team beat one of the powerhouse teams in Asia using 17 three-point conversions.
Gilas won against Lebanon, 107-96, winning their first game in the sixth window of the FIBA Asian Qualifiers at packed Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.
They showed their dominance in the 1st half and built a comfortable lead. Gilas also reached an almost 20-point lead in the 3rd quarter.
2 debutantes: Brownlee, Amos
New recruit and naturalized player Justine Brownlee showed he is a force to contend with, scoring 17 points and grabbing four rebounds and five assists in his Gilas debut.
Mason Amos was also fired from the bench for his debut at Gilas Pilipinas. The 18-year old Filipino-Aussie made 13 points, with a perfect 5-of-5 shooting and grabbed two rebounds.
6 players score double digit
The Philippine national team made a perfect combination for this window, with six out of 12 players scoring double digits.
Jamie Malonzo also did his job to spark the team by creating 15 points.
Meanwhile, Bobby Ray Parks, Jordan Heading, and Dwight Ramos have 10 points each which also helped the team to win their first of the two games for this sixth window qualifier.

Payback win
This win is payback against the Lebanese team because Gilas lost to Lebanon in their last qualifier battle.
Gilas Pilipinas is still on the third spot standing with a 6-3 win-loss record. They are behind second-seeded New Zealand and top-seeded Lebanon.
Gilas’ next game is on Monday, February 27, against Jordan, who just qualified for the FIBA World Cup Friday.
The Philippines has already qualified to the FIBA World Cup being one of the host countries. FIBA World Cup starts on August 25.
