WHILE state forecasters had declared that “the worst is over” as far extreme heat in the country is concerned, several local government units suspended on-site classes anew for Thursday, May 9, 2024.

In Cavite, all levels for both public and private schools were suspended in Naic, Carmona and Maragondon.

Bacoor City suspended face-to-face classes from Kinder to Grade 12 for public schools.

Likewise classes shift to online mode for Cavite State University in General Trias, Bacoor and Trece Martires.

In Batangas, Sto. Tomas City suspended on–site classes for all levels both public and private.

In Laguna, those suspended were Cabuyao (Elem to HS, public schools); Cavinti (Elem to HS, afternoon classes only); Magdalena (all levels for private and public schools); Pagsanjan (Half-day classes, preschool to SHS for public and private schools); Santo Tomas Elem. to SHS, public schools); Siniloan (all public schools)

Private schools may declare suspension of on-site classes.
