DAVAO CITY — A Davao de Oro-based vlogger bought gasoline from a gasoline station. He placed it in a small bottle of softdrinks.
Then he drank it.
Later, he got dizzy and vomitted.
The gasoline staff saw this and got alarmed. They called for medical emergency.
A staff of the nearest agency, from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, responded to the emergency call immediately.
It turned out it was just a prank. The prank was supposed to be shown in their Facebook vlog, The Cordero Brothers.
Police arrested the vlogger and his accomplice for pulling a prank on a team of disaster personnel responding to a medical emergency request.
Police Regional Office 11 identified the pranksters as Jonel C. Cordero , 29 years old, and Arnold O. Rabi, 32 years old. Both are residents of Mawab town in Davao de Oro.
According to Mawab Municipal Police, the prank occurred in Green Planet Gasoline Station, National Highway, Barangay Poblacion, around 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18.
The Mawab police said Cordoro was only acting to be dizzy and even vomitted as if he was poisoned. He pretended that he actually drank the gasoline. It turned out he filled the softdrinks bottle with an Energy Drink.
When the MDRRMO first responders arrived, the suspect continued with his acting. He let them continue giving him first aid.
It’s only when the responders asked the suspect to check his vitals, that Cordero ended his prank.
Suddenly, he confessed to the first responders that it was only a prank and that they were only making a vlog for their content together with his friend, Rabi, who was with him for the whole duration of the prank.
The report said, Rabi confessed to the responders that the vlogger only drank Energy Drink, whose liquid color is similar to that of gasoline.
The police charged the two for Alarms and Scandals, a criminal offense for disturbing the public peace.
