“Up” house available for rent on Airbnb

by Bryan Gadingan

AIRBNB is experiencing tremendous growth in the travel vacation destination-rental industry, completely transforming the way people search for accommodations while traveling throughout a country.

In 2008, Brian Chesky, Joe Gebbia, and Nathan Blecharczyk came together to establish Airbnb. The platform was initially created to allow hosts to offer their extra space to travelers, presenting a more cost-effective and customized option compared to conventional hotels.

In a recent announcement, the company unveiled their latest offering called “Icons.” This new category features a range of exceptional experiences hosted by renowned figures in the entertainment industry.

Chesky, the co-founder and chief executive officer, expressed the transformative power of Icons, which have the ability to transport you to worlds that were once confined to your imagination.

This announcement marks the introduction of their latest project. “As life becomes increasingly digital, we’re focused on bringing more magic into the real world. With Icons, we’ve created the most extraordinary experiences on Earth.”

Drift off in the Up house

One of the most famous homes from Pixar’s iconic film “Up” was announced as part of the list of entertainment-focused Icons. And yes, it floats.

Renters have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Carl’s world through a meticulously crafted replica of his home featuring over 8,000 balloons, as stated on their official website.

A massive crane will be used to suspend the house high in the air, situated amidst the picturesque red rocks of Abiquiu, New Mexico.

The house, which does not seem to have any visible connections to the ground, was reported to have functioning plumbing and electricity, according to the company.

The company has also confirmed that the house is equipped with a generator and other utilities that will be disconnected and reconnected before and after flying, ensuring that it remains fully functional.

Other notable figures in “Icons”

In addition to the well-known floating house from the movie “Up,” there will be 10 other iconic structures.

“Spend the night in the Ferrari Museum,” “Step into X-Men ‘97,” “Go VIP with Kevin Hart,” “Wake up in the Musée d’Orsay,” and “Join a living room session with Doja Cat.”

Adding to the lineup are experiences such as the iconic “Stay in Prince’s Purple Rain House,” “Game with Khaby Lame,” “Go on tour with Feid,” “Live like Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor,” and lastly, another Disney and Pixar movie, “Make core memories with Inside Out 2.”

As announced on their website, “Icons are featured in their own category right on the homepage. Most Icons are free, and all are priced under $100 USD per guest.”

“A countdown displays the time until each Icon goes live, and guests can request to book through the app. The lucky guests who are selected will receive a digital golden ticket, and more than 4,000 tickets will be available in 2024.”

Airbnb aims to stay relevant and generate positive attention for their followers and renters by releasing these listings. It is truly a delightful sight to witness the collaboration between entertainment personalities and iconic movies from the past.

Prepare for an experience that will leave a lasting impression, immersing you in a world like no other.
