The Rock returns to WWE

by Bryan Gadingan

“FINALLY, The Rock has come back to Denver!”

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, a WWE superstar and famous movie actor, made his long-awaited return to the ring on an episode of SmackDown in Denver, Colorado.

Just hours before his WWE debut, the People’s Champion appeared live on the campus of the University of Colorado on the McAfee Show.

Former WWE United States Champion Austin Theory clashed with former NFL punter Pat McAfee.

When The Rock made his unexpected debut, the crowd erupted. He then said his famous line, “Finally, The Rock has returned to Denver!”

The Rock then entered a conversation between Pat McAfee and Austin Theory. The Rock and Theory exchanged words before the latter made the foolish decision to attempt to eliminate The People’s Champion.

After years away from the stage, The Rock surprised Theory with a spinebuster. While Theory was still in the center of the mat, The Rock unleashed his electrifying People’s Elbow.

McAfee, who was there in the ring with The Rock, hit Theory with the move as well. The Rock’s music then blared once more, earning him a well-deserved standing ovation.

The Rock hasn’t wrestled since the SmackDown 20th anniversary show in October of 2019. This is also his second teevised appearance since 2016.

After a long sabbatical from WWE, The Rock has been busy with various films that have been well welcomed by his fans.

But WWE fans undoubtedly missed seeing their favorite wrestler compete inside the ring.
