WITH Christmas fast approaching, many people have begun listening to holiday songs to celebrate and feel the vibe of the most joyous time of the year.
As a present for all music-loving Filipinos, global music streaming service provider Spotify has recently unveiled the top holiday songs and artists for 2023.

For this year, iconic Filipino Christmas figure Jose Mari Chan continues to capture the hearts of many Filipinos as he takes the top spot as the most-streamed holiday artist in the Philippines.
Meanwhile, global pop superstars Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey secured the second and third spots respectively.
Multi-platinum and Grammy Award-winning singer Michael Bublé completes the list by taking the fourth spot.
Holiday song classics prove their timeless influence among Filipinos, with Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You still holding the most streamed song on Spotify in the country.
Ariana Grande’s Santa Tell Me holds the second spot, followed by Wham!’s Last Christmas – Single Version.
Jose Mari Chan’s Christmas in Our Hearts, and Brenda Lee’s Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree complete the top holiday songs list.
Global top songs and artists
As expected, classic holiday songs from the ‘50s, ‘80s, ’90s, and 2000s have retained their popularity, with Mariah Carey’s remarkable hit All I Want for Christmas Is You holding the top spot worldwide.
Coming in second is Last Christmas (1984) by English pop duo Wham!, followed by Brenda Lee’s Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree.
Bobby Helms’ Jingle Bell Rock and Ariana Grande’s Santa Tell Me take the fourth and fifth spots respectively.
Michael Bublé takes the top spot as the most-streamed holiday artist worldwide. His album, Christmas, is also recognized as the top-streamed album of all time.
Global musical figures such as Mariah Carey, Bing Crosby, Ariana Grande, and Frank Sinatra complete the rest of the spots for this year’s top holiday artists.
According to Spotify, holiday playlist creation by listeners from around the world has spiked over 1,400% since the start of November.
