SB19’s Stell, Julie Anne San Jose tease possible collaboration

by Joanna Deala

IT seems like Stell Ajero of P-pop boy group SB19 and Asia’s Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose are brewing something for their fans.

On Instagram, the 30-year-old Kapuso singer and actress shared a photo of her featuring the main vocalist of the phenomenal P-pop quintet.

The photo was taken at 1Z Entertainment building, the company launched last year by SB19.

San Jose said, “Thanks for having me @1zentertainment.ph.”

Her caption included the hashtag “Bonding For Something,” which elated the fans who believed there was a budding collaboration.

Among those who were excited for what the two celebrities have in store was San Jose’s boyfriend, actor and dancer Rayver Cruz.

“Excitinggg,” he wrote in the comment section.

Ajero also commented on San Jose’s post with fire emojis.

The SB19 member also shared the same photo on X (formerly Twitter) and said, “Welcome to the zone @MyJaps.”

While there’s no confirmation of a collaboration yet, several fans hope that San Jose and Ajero will join forces through a song or a concert.

“A collaboration concert please that would be great seeing [you] two perform together, [you are] both excellent performers,” said a fan.

“Sheeessshhh to the O to the M to the G. The powerhouse collab. Lord pls sana mapanood ko ito. One of my bucket list na mapanood ko si Julie ng live sa isang concert,” another netizen said.

One social media user pitched in, “Song collab then concert sana.”

But whatever project the two celebrities would have, fans were certain that it would be a “powerful” one, given the immense vocal skills that the two artists have.

“Pinagsama pa kayu huhuhu. Tiyak pangmalakasan ‘yan,” a netizen said.

About the artists

Ajero and San Jose were vocal coaches on the singing competition “The Voice Generations,” where the former’s team, Vocalmyx, emerged victorious.

Vocalmyx from Team Stellbound was the first grand winner of “The Voice Generations,” bagging a prize of P1 million and a record and management contract with Universal Music Group.

It was in the same show where Ajero and San Jose performed an impromptu duet of “Habang May Buhay” by Wency Cornejo. They performed the chorus part of the song, hitting the high notes while sitting on their iconic red chairs.

SB19—composed of Pablo, Stell, Josh, Ken and Justin—has been collaborating with various artists for their latest songs. Their most recent collaboration song was the club anthem “Ready,” with Filipino-American hip-hop superstar Apl.de.Ap.

The P-pop kings recently earned an international nomination at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards, under its “Favourite Asian Act” category. They are up against Japanese girl group NiziU, Indonesian singer Tiara Andini, Malaysian singer Iman Troye, and fourth generation K-pop boy group Enhypen.

Meanwhile, San Jose marked her 30th birthday in May with a sultry photoshoot. She also trended on social media because of her “Piliin Mo Ang Pilipinas” entry, where she celebrated her character Maria Clara in the popular fantasy series “Maria Clara at Ibarra.”
