MEMBERS of phenomenal P-pop group SB19 prepared a lot of surprises for their fans during the month-long celebration of their fifth anniversary in the music scene.
The P-pop kings, who marked their fifth anniversary on October 26, were true to their words when they said they would have a more “intimate interaction” with their fans at their fan meet at the Araneta Coliseum on October 28.
“One Zone” was indeed full of activities for their fans, collectively known as A’TIN, including a variety of games. One lucky A’TIN won the opportunity to have dinner with the quintet.
But to make the night more memorable, SB19 surprised the fans with the release of the music video of their song “Freedom.” What made this extra special for A’TIN is that they get to watch the music video with their idols during the event.
“Freedom” is the sixth track in SB19’s latest extended play (EP) titled, “Pagtatag!” Other songs in the album are “I Want You,” “Crimzone,” “Ilaw,” “Liham,” and its mega hit “Gento.”
“Freedom” seems to show the members’ appreciation to people who brought light into their lives and helped them spread their wings.
A part of the chorus goes, “You are my freedom; Oh damn it feels so great; We gotta celebrate oh yeah oh yeah; You are my freedom; Brought out the best in me; Forever I’m in debt of you of you.”
The warm feeling that the song gives reflects on the music video, which features Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin having fun as they explore the city together.
Some of the videos taken by fans during the fan meet showed the members getting visibly emotional as they watched the music video.
“SB19 Pablo and Stell getting emotional to Freedom. Wag na kayo umiyak mahal namin kayo,” an A’TIN said, as they shared a reaction video of the members on TikTok.
Another fan also said, “Super emotional moment for SB19 & A’TIN while watching Freedom’s MV. MAHALIMA PALAGI.”
“Mahalima” is the short term for “mahal namin kayong lima.”
Of course, the group also gifted their fans with a live performance of “Freedom.”
Those who weren’t able to attend the fan meet were not left hanging because SB19 also dropped the music video on their social media platforms.
In another post, SB19 thanked A’TIN who attended the fan meet.
“Maraming salamat, A’TIN! It was indeed memorable celebrating our Half a Decade milestone with you! We hope that everyone enjoyed the night!” it said.
More Asia tour dates
SB19 also announced at the fan meet that it included Japan for the Asia leg of the “Pagtatag!” world tour.
The group is set to perform in Japan on December 9, following its show in Dubai on November 24.
The members will also perform in Singapore on November 16 and in Thailand on November 19.
Meanwhile, there is no official announcement yet if SB19 will include Manila in its world tour, as of writing.
