A passenger ship carrying at least 120 people caught fire off the coast of Panglao, Bohol, on Sunday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported.
It was not immediately clear why the fire broke out on Kho Shipping Lines’ MV Esperanza Star while traveling from Lazi, Siquijor, to Tagbilaran, Bohol.
There were no reports of casualties as the PCG conducted firefighting and rescue operations.
”Personnel of the BRP Malamawi (FPB-2403), Coast Guard Sub-Station Tagbilaran, and Coast Guard Special Operations Unit-Tagbilaran are performing the said operations,” the PCG said.
