P-pop group BINI concludes first-ever solo concert

by Joanna Deala

JUNE was a month to remember for most BLOOMs, or fans of the girl group BINI, following successive milestones of their favorite P-pop idols.

From BINI’s chart-topping songs, the first-ever “National BINI Day” and “BINI Run,” the eight-member girl group has now capped off its sold-out three-day “BINIverse” concert at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao, Quezon City on Sunday, June 30.

The members–composed of Jhoanna, Colet, Maloi, Mikha, Gwen, Stacey, Sheena, and Aiah–had been preparing a lot of surprises for their fans, as a token of gratitude for the support and love BLOOMs have been showering them with since day one.

For sure, BINI and its BLOOMs had several moments from the three-hour musical event they would forever treasure.

Here are some of the highlights of the third and last day of the “BINIverse” concert:

Jeremy G’s performance

Kapamilya singer-songwriter Jeremy G hyped the audience when he went up the stage to perform his song “Sinayang Mo” and the remix version of “BINI” featuring Aiah.

Along with two dancers, the 24-year-old artist grooved to “Sinayang Mo,” an upbeat track that tackles about a wasted love.

The song was first released in September 2022, before it became part of Jeremy G’s first full-length album “Late Night Madness” in September 2023.

Also included in his eighth-track album was “BINI,” whose remix version was released on June 28, coinciding with the first day of the “BINIverse” concert.

Jeremy G did not perform the song with Aiah, but its music video showcasing Aiah was played on the LED screen on stage.

Currently, “BINI’s” music video has garnered more than half a million views on YouTube since its release.

‘Cherry On Top’ performance

BINI then treated BLOOMs with a performance of its forthcoming song “Cherry On Top,” which would be dropped on July 11.

After the performance, fans at the concert had a sneak peek of its music video.

The clip ended with the members dancing atop a cake, with Aiah in the center. On social media, many fans anticipated the group’s comeback to the music scene would be Aiah’s “era” this time.

The girl group has released concept photos for “Cherry On Top.”

The song will be BINI’s second music release this year, following its debut extended play (EP) “Talaarawan” in March.

BINI’s award

The night was not only about BINI’s gratitude to their fans but also about recognizing the musical success the girl group worked hard for.

During the concert, the BINI members turned emotional when they received a plaque of recognition for making history as the first P-pop girl group to hold three outstanding sold-out shows at the New Frontier Theater, held from June 28 to 30.

BLOOMs, on the other hand, poured out their support and love to their idols by applauding the girl group and chanting “BINI.”

Jhoanna, BINI’s leader, delivered an emotional speech, narrating how their three-day concert happened.

According to her, the members had a meeting after Star Magic Head Laurenti Dyogi asked them if they could add two more dates for the concert because the tickets for the first day were already sold out.

“Hindi siya madali, hindi siya biro, yung Day 2 and Day 3 na almost three hours na show. Naisip naming girls na ang daming BLOOMs na hindi nakabili ng ticket na gusto kaming mapanood pa. At ayaw din naman naming ma-sacrifice yung quality nung show dahil nga three days,” said Jhoanna.

Despite the challenge, she shared that all the members agreed to hold a three-day show, saying they did not regret their decision.

“Inubos natin yung three days na successful, na wala akong nakikitang empty seats. Maraming, maraming salamat BLOOMs and of course, maraming salamat sa management namin na all out magbigay ng support nila para sa amin,” Jhoanna said.

‘The Grand BINIverse’

The three-day concert may have already ended, but BINI’s surprises for its fans are never-ending.

The girl group announced that it will hold another concert in a bigger venue, adhering to BLOOMs clamor to perform at the Araneta Coliseum.

Jhoanna said that the concert, titled “The Grand BINIverse,” will be held on October 4.

Further details for the event, including ticket prices and its selling date, have yet to be announced.

BINI previously announced that it would embark on a regional tour, where they would perform in Baguio City on July 6, Cebu City on July 14, and General Santos City on July 20.
