METRO MANILA malls will temporarily follow a different operating schedule starting November 13 to help manage traffic in the National Capital Region during the Christmas season.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Friday that the operating hours of malls will be from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. for the period November 13, 2023, to January 8, 2024.
Deliveries will be allowed at 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. except for perishable goods such as food.
Mall-wide sales can only be done on weekends, and mall operators must submit traffic management plans at least two weeks in advance.
During this period, road reblocking works, excavation activities, pipe laying, and road upgrading are suspended, except for flagship projects of the government, sidewalk improvements, emergency repairs for water and electricity supply, and related projects.
