Mayonnaise caps 20th anniv celebration with free concert

THE Filipino alternative rock band Mayonnaise will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in the music industry by holding a free concert this month.

The popular OPM band behind several hits, including Jopay, is set to rock the Quezon City Memorial Circle stage on May 20.

Mayonnaise’s anniversary concert, dubbed Mayo 20 The Finale, is expected to include the band’s iconic and relatable hits during its two decades in the country’s music scene.

The show is intended to be a treat to its fans who have supported the band since its humble beginnings.

Aside from this, Mayo 20 The Finale will be the encore stage after the band’s series of shows to celebrate its two decades in the industry.

Mayonnaise previously performed in front of its international audience, bringing the Mayo 20 show to different parts of Canada, such as Calgary, Edmonton, Grand Prairie, Saskatchewan, Winnipeg, Mocton, Ontario, Montreal, and Vancouver.

It also held a thanksgiving show for its 20th anniversary last year, celebrating its music with fans in various parts of the country including Caloocan, Taguig, Parañaque, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Rizal, Zambales, Bulacan, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Laguna, Batangas, Nueva Ecija, and Cavite.

Mayo 20 The Finale will feature a long set from Mayonnaise, with special participation of its industry peers including  Barbie Almalbis, Champ Lui Pio of Hale, Sud Ballecer (or Sud), Argee Guerrero or I Belong To The Zoo, and Josh Villena of Autotelic. 

The band will also be present during the Rakrakan Festival 2023 that will take place in Clark Global City, Pampanga on June 10 to 11, along with OPM bands Franco, Urbandub, Soapdish, 6cyclemind, Silent Sanctuary, Imago, Chicosi, and Typecast, among others.

About Mayonnaise

Mayonnaise is a prominent and well-loved Filipino rock band formed in 2002. The band is composed of frontliner Monty Macalino, Shan Regalado, Carlo Servano, Nikki Tirona, and Keano Swing.

The band first gained popularity upon winning the Red Horse Muziklaban contest in 2004. 

Mayonnaise has produced many hit songs, including Synesthesia, Kapag Lasing Malambing, Sinungaling, Ipagpatawad Mo, and Tayo Na Lang Dalawa

It also released a new single, its version of Night Over Alaska’s 143, today, May 12.

The band is known for its catchy tunes, heartfelt lyrics, and high-energy performances and have won several awards in the Philippine music scene, including the Myx Music Awards.
